PROJECT
Lonza, a Swiss company, is one of the world's largest contract manufacturers
serving the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. It is one of the global
leaders in the production of active ingredients for the biotechnological market.
As the Construction Manager responsible for a 15 million Euros fast track expan
sion to an existing facility, the scope included engineering, pre-construction,
procurement, construction management, and commissioning. Construction took place
during commercial operation with no impact to ongoing operations.

SCHERING-PLOUGH LPO - LAS PIEDRAS, PUERTO RICO

SMALL SCALE MANUFACTURING FACILITY
As the Project Manager for a $17 million fast track expansion to an existing
facility, the scope included engineering, pre-construction, procurement,
construction management, and pre- commissioning. The project involved
renovation of an existing building. The work consisted of internal alterations
to an existing single level building and a building extension. Construction
took place during commercial operation and was on schedule and under
budget with no impact to ongoing operations.

AMGEN MANUFACTURING - JUNCOS, PUERTO RICO (MAY '03- OCT'04)

Manages the engineering group for a biopharmaceutical manufacturing and
development facility. Interacts extensively with internal clients and external
suppliers to ensure timely and cost effective project implementation.
Maintains compliance with regulations and internal policies for cGMP
manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. Manages internal and contract
engineering personnel. He led engineering projects in manufacturing areas,

CHEM SOURCE Selected Experience (2002-2004)

CHEM SOURCE CORPORATION - 2002 - 2004
Working directly for the Chem Source a pharmaceutical production plant Mr.
Torres served as the Engineering Manager. Chem Source acquired the facility
after been closed for several years. The structure, once a singe product
facility, was transformed into a multiproduct facility in less than 8 months. Th
e
plant produced 5 different products for contract manufacturing. Mr. Torres was
responsible for the overall project development which included Scoping,
feasibility Studies, Preliminary Design, Project Cost Estimate, Preparation of
capital cost estimates and financial analysis, Schedule and budget control,
develop cash flow forecast, develop and implement engineering and
construction contract. After increasing the production capacity of the plant the
facility was sold to another multinational pharmaceutical company for a
considerable profit.

Mr. Torres started his career in Philadelphia at URS Head Quarters in
1989 after completing his Engineering degree. He started as an entry level
Mechanical Engineering working in projects for the Nuclear industries.
One year later he was involve in the Start Up team selected to start up a
nuclear production reactor at Savannah River Plant, a very sensitive
program for the US Department of defense. After that he move into the
Chemicals and Power industries, were he designed and built sophisticated
process plants to produce a broad range of hydrocarbons, heavy organic
and inorganic chemicals, organic intermediates, polymers, plastics, and
high-value specialty chemicals.
In 1994 URS relocate him to Puerto Rico to help biotechnology and
pharmaceutical client's design, construct and operate primary research
and drug-development laboratories, pilot-plants, and full-scale production
facilities. By 1998 he have developed as a well known project manager en
the industry with a proven track record of working safely, achieving
project schedules, cost savings and cost avoidance.
