HISTORY OF TRIUMPH
“ESAN has become a strong and successful institution, recognized both nationally and
internationally. Its contributions to Peruvian economic development have had a profound
impact on the lives of thousands of people around the country.
I feel honored to have been part of this history of success”.

Alan B. Coleman / ESAN’s Founding Dean

The School of Business Administration for Graduates, ESAN, was founded on July 25th, 1963, under an agreement
between the governments of Peru and the United States of America. Its organization and implementation was
entrusted to the School of Business for Graduates of Stanford University, California.

ESAN is a non-profit, private, Peruvian institution of international scope, with academic and management autonomy.
It offers Master’s Degree programs for executives and several other academic and professional services. Moreover,
within its decentralized management and based on its researches, the institution also offers various programs aimed
at strengthening the development of local governments and small and micro enterprises.

Before the offer of postgraduate programs, the quality has become the key factor to make a right decision. ESAN
is the first institution in Peru that has received international accreditation from AMBA, “Association of MBAs”. This
distinction is in recognition of its efforts to offer products with high international standards.

ESAN DUAL MBA

Besides, ESAN is a member of the AACSB, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; the EFMD,
European Foundation for Management Development; the PIM, Partnership for International Management; and is
a founding member and the current executive head office of CLADEA, Latin American Council of Management
Schools. 9
Within this context, ESAN is the business school in Peru, which has the largest number of agreements with first class
foreign schools, allowing its participants to have a high level of international exposure through business and study
trips, exchange programs and visits of foreign professors.

Throughout its more than 40 years, ESAN has become the leading business school in our country. The strength of
its programs and the excellence of its faculty are the basis for ESAN to fulfill its vision to reinforce its leadership by
strengthening its position not only in the different regions of the country, but also in the world.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
“Well, my experience studying overseas was very challenging and definitely the best decision for my professional
and personal life. I completed the MIB program (Master of International Business) at FIU (Florida International
University) in Miami.

The MIB program gave me several skills. It not only gave me knowledge about international business but also helped me
perform efficiently within multicultural environments.

By applying through ESAN University, I had the chance to obtain two degrees, one from ESAN and the other from FIU
(MIB). My degree from MIB was a key factor in helping me obtain my current job at one of the top 5 global pharmaceutical
companies, Novartis.

ESAN DUAL MBA

After completing my degree in Miami, I chose to work in the U.S. This was the beginning of my international work
experience. I started at the Latin American headquarters of Novartis in Miami.
As soon as I finished my one year contract (limited to one year under US law), Novartis relocated me to my hometown
with a more challenging job as Product Manager for the Cardiovascular Franchise. 41

In terms of my personal life, my wife and daughter also enjoyed living in US and had the opportunity to improve their
English and meet people from many different cultures. In general, we all met incredible people and made lifelong friends
who we are still in contact with us.

For all of those reasons, I feel proud of my decision to study abroad and strongly recommend this opportunity”.
