Senior Test Development Engineer
Develop automated test equipment and processes.
Primary off-shore support and management for test
group for the past 5 years, investigating and solving major
problems that affect our production and product
performance. Maintain parametric database and data stream.
Develop data analysis software and reporting tools. Primary
resource for developing macros for Excel and Jump to
analyze data as well as custom programs and algorithms if
existing tools prove inadequate. Monitor tester
reliability and processes at off-shore manufacturing
partner by developing a custom Gage R&R analysis program.
Designed mechanical systems for tape handling and head
fixturing. Developed Web based data viewing system using
ORACLE, MySQL, ASP, JavaScript, and ISAPI. Developed
reporting system using Excel to access database and
calculate statistics and present charts
Accomplishments:
Developed sophisticated test platform for magnetic tape
head functional testing including many unique signal
analysis algorithms. Test platform included TCP/IP
communication, database interaction, powerful user
interface, hardware interfaces and custom scripting.
Platform supports 10 products and can be configured in 15
minutes to allow production to manage capacity to support
demand. Tester software > 70k lines of code.
Developed processes to report critical information to the
systems users. They are intuitive and include drill down
functionality such as multi layered embedded charts and
quick view summaries. These efforts have quickly
identified design deficiencies preventing $50K of faulty
product shipping to customers.
Designed and developed a data system for all of
manufacturing data. This saved the company over $100K.
The system includes; custom programs, an Oracle database,
a MySQL database, and an FTP system that pulls data from
our supplier in China.
Developed a Static Resistance Tester that has been in
production for nine and half years. The system has required
minimal support for over eight years due to the simple
interfaces and the powerful scripting engine. The system
includes data mapping and a custom equation parser. This
system has supported over 15 unique product designs
Developed data reporting tools that allow engineers from
all areas to access the data directly and pull it into Excel
reports for quick analysis and presentation saving time for
report generation from 8 hours to 15 minutes for task that
occurs 2-3 times per week.
Primary contact in charge of representing my team for over
15 new product introduction (NPI) goals.
