Explanation on the Meditation (in general), Mudras, etc.
01 Meditatio Please sit in a chair/sofa/cot/floor. Leaning back to the chair/sofa/wall for
n support is permissible. Sitting in “Padmasana” posture, etc would give
posture optimum results.
02 Meditatio Meditation can be done any time during the day/night. Ideal time shall be
n before taking food. Adhering to specific timings on a daily basis,
time brings in a regularity/habit for you to continue the meditation.
03 Meditatio At least twice daily, with a minimum duration of 10 minutes in each sitting.
n Doing meditation for a longer duration would give better results.

04 Combi- Please do not combine this “Chakra Meditation” techniques with any other
nation techniques/ methodology, you have been doing all along. Pl. practice
this separately/exclusively.
05 Others Being a pure vegetarian, hip-rotation exercise, etc will activate Swadishtana
chakra

Explanation on the attributes of the “ Swadishtana Chakra ”


0 Location Swadishtana Chakra is located 3 inches below the navel i.e. lower
6 abdomen (outside our physical body)
0 Descriptio 6 petalled orange lotus; inside there is white crescent moon representing
7 n of water; in the moon there is a white crocodile. (a symbolic illustration given
Chakra on 1st page)
0 Mudra Pl. see the picture in the previous page for the “Swadishtana Chakra
8 Mudra” i.e. gently put the hands in your lap, palms up, right palm over
the left. The tips of thumbs touch gently. Please remain in this posture
through out the Meditiation
0 Colour ORANGE. Orange colour gives energy to our physical body. If you have
9 been, by any chance, disliking orange colour in your life, or you do not
have any specific liking for orange colour, please change your idea. From
now onwards please develop a taste/liking for orange colour also and this
will help you to do a qualitative meditation on the Swadishtana Chakra
and derive optimum benefits.

1 Vayu Vyana Vayu. Swadishtana Chakra controls “vyana vayu” (a type of gas

Step – by – Step Meditation Techniques


(the numbers given in bold in this table are not serial numbers; they denote the serial no.s
of the previous two tables in this article)
Please sit in a meditative posture 1, close your eyes, locate the Swadishtana chakra in
your body 6, visualize its description 7, and do the Swadishtana Chakra Mudra 8

(please keep the eyes closed, remain in the meditative posture with the mudra through
out)
Please have deep and long inhaling and exhaling through the nose for 3 times.

At the Swadishtana chakra region, please be aware of water element 10 (water falls /
lake, etc) in the back ground of orange colour 9 (may be muddy water, river bed,
etc) and also corresponding water element in your body like blood / fluids; sexual
organs, kidneys and urinary system 11 and visualize that these organs are functioning
well, your taste sense 13 improves and vyana vayu 14 / blood circulation, nerves
system is functioning well
Please visualise white Crocodile 15, Lord Vishnu 16, Goddess Rakini or Saraswati 17 and
worship them to solve your problems (however without any disturbance in your
meditative posture)
Please chant the Manta “VAM” 18 mentally, without making any sound

 (e.g.) A little child playfully makes frequent attempts to go out of it’s mother’s control.
But the mother always keep her eyes on the child and untiringly makes all attempts to

bring the child within her safe control. While meditating, whenever your mind wanders

away, like the untiring mother, please bring in your wandering mind under your control,

i.e. concentration/meditation.
 While meditating, please remember/be aware of as much attributes (of the chakra) as

possible. A small variation in the order of remembering the attributes is permissible.

 Please first meditate on the Mooladhara Chakra (1st Chakra) for about 5 minutes and
thereafter meditate on the Swadishtana Chakra (2nd Chakra) for about 5 minutes. Then

again meditate on Mooladhara Chakra for about ½ minute and then wind up the

meditation.

 Symbolic representation of the Chakras, pictures of God, Goddess, animal, etc are

given from the available resources. Readers are welcome to have their own
