MEDICINA INTEGRAL EN LA PREVENCIÓN Y TRATAMIENTO DE LA
“ENFERMEDAD DE LA VEJEZ”
ABSTRACT
angustias, miedos, algún shock nervioso, accidentes, enfermedades largas o

CONCLUSION

No

INTRODUCTION
She is for this reason, that it is possible to see the Anthropology and the
Medicine like sciences born from a same mother, both have as purpose the
study of the man in its different manifestations. The evolutionary advantages
are doubtless, but, for the development of it also brings back to
consciousness, it is necessary a functional disposition at physical level and a
mental disposition. That there are to learn from a tie Multidisciplinary
boarding with the historical, scientific moment, the existing cosmovisión and
the changing society.
According to the INEGI, the second count of population and housing 2006,
the population of seniors grew up in absolute and relative terms, since in the
last five years the total population increased from 7.1% to 8.1% which is to
increase by 1.4 million. (Escobar)
Therefore, "years" will affect all these individuals in all aspects of their
physical and mental life, with catastrophic family, social, environmental and
economic. Since the age we live in the West is this, a state of physical
deterioration, mental and social well being elderly is synonymous with
decadence, a mindset learned over centuries of vassalage result, religions
and the fears that have developed out of ignorance. In the Eastern world old
age is wisdom, respect, the sum of all physical and mental processes at its
best.
The brain is an organ of adaptation, responding to events in our life the way it
is necessary to survive and continue functioning; because the brain controls
all bodily functions directly or indirectly, this means that in all our body will
manifest what has happened throughout our lives. (Hanna, "Somatic:
Reawakening the mind's control of movement, flexibility and health")
For most people, grow, mature and adjust to adult life is an act not an act of
decadence analyzed, a deliberate act of renunciation gradual functional skills
acquired during the growth process. Maturity is a long learning process,
during which we form a broad repertoire of skills that enable us to live life to
the fullest, but not always. We now know, as established fact, which as we
age, physical activity becomes more necessary, not less. Everything that
happens in our lives, necessarily cause a reaction in the CNS. The brain
responds to the events that occur and adapt to them, if our life is limited,
narrow, the brain adapts to it, if we are years of anxiety, fears, anxieties,
fears, a nervous breakdown, accidents, illnesses or long radical surgery, our
brain responds to these facts and adapts to them. These are the situations
that give rise to amnesia psychoneuroimmunological that make us believe
that we are inevitably deteriorated. Conversely if we have an open mind
willing to change, we will enjoy years of satisfaction, trust and hope with very
different effects. The decades of work that the Hungarian Dr. Hans Selye,
one of the leading figures in the field of medical research of the last century,
devoted to endocrinology, allowed him to formulate the concept of stress and
recognize that there are "diseases of adaptation”. The formulation of the
general adaptation syndrome (GAS) is possibly the most important fact in
medicine since the discovery of the germ theory of infectious and
antibacterial drug development. Selye's research are extremely important
because they introduce new dimensions in medicine that we have expressed
in terms of somatic, is the notion that psychological events are as important
as the physiological connection to determine the state of health or disease
humans. The somatic approach encompasses the way we humans see
ourselves from the inside out and that from that point of view eliminates the
distinction between mind and body. "This emphasis on responsibility for us is
the hallmark of somatic approach" This approach is not intended to take
anything away from medicine, but rather it brings to recognize the mind-body
interaction is involved in all diseases of adaptation. Selye is expressed as
follows:
"Life is primarily a process of adaptation to circumstances in which we exist.
An endless giving and receiving has been taking place between living matter
and inanimate environment, including a living thing and another, ever since
Dra. Ma. Enriqueta Flores Fernández 21

“ENFERMEDAD DE LA VEJEZ”
the emergence of prehistoric ocean life. The secret of health and happiness
knows how to adapt to ever-changing conditions on this planet if we fail in
this great process of adaptation, our punishment will be illness and
misfortune. "
But besides this general background of life,
“There is another kind of evolution taking place in every person during his
life, from birth to death, adaptation to the stresses and strains of everyday
existence. Through constant interaction between mental and bodily reactions,
man has the power to exert their influence over this second form of evolution
to a considerable extent, especially if you understand its mechanisms and
have enough willpower to act on the dictates of the human intellect. "
The so-called diseases of "old age" and degenerative diseases are, as we
have been saying, are mainly "diseases of adaptation." A habit is an act of
adaptation slow and inexorable that is deeply rooted in the patterns of central
nervous system. Unfortunately, living in a society "advanced" is to live in a
society where fear abounds. In our society, 80% of the adult population
suffers from back pain. Apparently, the progress of technology rests on his
back which deteriorates progressively. This is ironic, since our contemporary
technological society, the reward for achieving escape from manual labor that
eventually they snap back, should be can rid of that kind of physical pain.
The British researcher E. J. Bassey says flatly that there is no doubt that
exercise can improve fitness and maximum capacities of the elderly.
Anatomical level, studies by Smith and Reddan, showed that regular physical
exercise reduces bone loss, stimulating growth. Once again we see that the
development of all physical activity prevents hardening of the joints and
therefore the limitation of movement. The myth of aging and sexuality is
another parallel in the false concept of aging and mental capacity. When
Intelligence Tests French psychologist Alfred Binet was used by first time in
the United States, it was believed that intellectual development, as well as
the sexual, reached its peak at age sixteen (that's when he should have born
the popular myth) but Wescheler tests of the 30's soon revealed that the
findings of Bidet, were not true. According to recent evidence, many adults
seemed to become smarter as they got older. (9) Scales were evident
Wescheler some interesting complication: different kinds of intellectual
functions are at their peak or reach its lowest point at different times and
ratios. This would complicate even further to find that many adults did not
give any signs of decline. Given the rapid changes in each generation during
the last century and this, we are also familiar with the fact that new
generations seem to be smarter than before, but what this is due to an age
difference or something completely different: a difference in culture and
education? Longitudinal study of adult psychological development "its author
was K. Warner Schaie, whose longitudinal study in Seattle covers a period of
21 years, says that his research began with 1656 people between 25 and 67
years, the tests were applied in different years. Again and again the group
tests were applied to measure the increase or decrease of various intellectual
skills. It became clear that intellectual development did not reach its peak at
Dra. Ma. Enriqueta Flores Fernández 22

“ENFERMEDAD DE LA VEJEZ”
16 years of age, other intellectual skills required for different periods of time
to mature, for example, the mental calculation ability does not reach its peak
until 46 years, and verbal comprehension and meaning does not come to its
full development until age 53. This suggests that aging is not a period of
decline but of improvement and development. Why not all people who
applied the same tests showed steady progress? Why are some declining
while others were still making progress? After considering several
possibilities, Schaie concluded that people with "a flexible style of
personality" are more likely to continue to express high levels of efficiency as
they age. The intellectual capacity to such an extent a reflection of how we
lived our lives as Schaie said "typically" is not until the age of 81 we can see
that the average elderly falls far below performance of young adults. The
doctors we think that our techniques are everything what our patients
need, but the effect of placebo contradicts the idea. F.J. Evans realized
a series of carefully controlled studies on the reduction of the pain, to
compare the effects of morphine with placebo “useless” His discoveries
were surprising: the effectiveness of placebo was equal to the one of a
56% of a dose of morphine. What will have caused a so powerful
analgesic effect? Due to the importance of placebo in the clinical
medicine a called specialty Psiconeuroinmunología has arisen (Ader
and Cohen), this area of the investigation is based on which not long
ago was considered impossible, that the immunological system does
not work in independent form but works in combination with the central
nervous system. In addition, the emotions, the attitudes, there and
other states of bring back to consciousness stimulate certain
neurotransmitters that, as well, affect the immunological system, of the
name of this specialty. The hypothesis of work of the
Psiconeuroinmunología is that a state of brings back to consciousness,
like the expectation, can as much originate changes in the nervous
system as in the immunological system. In essence, this one is the
point that the attitudes and the beliefs that we have with respect to our
body and our health develop. If we hoped that our bodies are resistant
and healthy, they will have the tendency thus has to be. On the other
hand, it is possible to be spoken of expectation in relation to the myth
of the aging, that is to say, to be thought that the structural fault and the
loss of the operation are inevitable. In this case, the fault and the loss
finally will happen. The prophecy is fulfilled by its own nature: it will
happen what we hoped that happens. If we have certain age and we
felt certain annoyances in the body, the way in which we interpreted
this will be crucial. We took if it as sign from serious diseases and the
declination that delay is happened in that stage of the life, then we will
be accepting a supposed fatality and rendering to us before her. From
a functional point of view, to anticipate pathology is equivalent to cause
it. This triggers dangerous reactions in the brain and the immunological

CONCLUTION:
Why, like medical allopathic, I speak of the Integral Medicine and its different
ways to approach the disease with professional, educative and therapeutic
lines and not with medicines?
Ever since the primates until homo sapien, precursors of the existing human
being and until this day, the conventional medicine has only worked in curing
the disease and this is truth in that aspect the medicine has had its better
results from century XIX, nevertheless, in this century the medical boarding
must become from the redirection of the mind. The human beings we must
work from “us”, the history of the humanity has demonstrated that the
evolution who there are been doing since we appeared in the Earth face, has
been realized in the capacity of physical adaptation creating the existing
world to inhabit it, nevertheless, is moment for learning to evolve from the
mind to revert the majority of the diseases that afflict to us because they, the
majority, are creation of the mind and its emotional states. We do not try to
be finite, but to infinitely extend from a new mind and a new body. The life is
a training state, where the oldness is the reach of human the mental potential
for the change of state that all matter realizes. The trip began from mid
century XIX, we have been able to state that the return to essential natural
practices, improvement of positive way first our mind, our health and our life.
What now we learn building mental and physically our life will be the bridge
towards the next transmutation? The boarded subject is not only “result” of
the scientific knowledge, is an experience that are born from the clinical
practice, daily, popular, magical, cradle in the “learning” that opens the way
more the reason-intuitive one than to the passion-learned one of the human
being in all their dimension
