Manager Financial Analysis, Corporate Business Development (2005 -
2010)
* Developed valuation and strategic summary that supported
acquisition of privately held IVD automation company. Acquisition
enabled competitive response by $700M BD business - improved time
to market by three years vs. internal development program.
* Developed valuation that supported acquisition of public women's
health diagnostics company. Presented valuation and key
assumptions to BD CEO, CFO and Segment President. BD acquired
company for $350M.
* Developed valuation, business case and deal structure for
potential alliance with target that had proprietary technology to
isolate and enrich tumor cells in pre-analytical samples.
Co-presented strategy, business case and preliminary valuation to
leadership team of $900M Pre Analytical Systems business. Gained
approval to initiate negotiations to secure exclusive rights while
minimizing risk.
* Led business case development and financial modeling regarding
nanotechnology opportunity with potential to improve IVD
sensitivity and work flow. Presented financials, key assumptions
and deal structure to BD leadership team. Secured tech dev funding

* Modeled revenue potential of Advanced BioProcessing product line
that contributed to it becoming a business unit. Developed
analysis of BD's $400M R&D budget that provided insight regarding
the portion of R&D consumed by product support. Developed
strategic and competitive assessment of Beckman Coulter. Led SAP
business process benchmarking initiative with Cap Gemini prior to
approval of $200M global upgrade.

* Led global planning, budgeting, forecasting, CAPX and strategic /
financial performance assessment for multi - plant, $500M business
(primarily insulin delivery). Presented quarterly financial
performance and outlook to leadership team and sector management.
* Co-negotiated exclusive rights to potential blockbuster product -
a non invasive blood glucose monitoring (BGM) device. Deal
structure minimized upfront investment and linked subsequent
payments to milestones while preserving BD upside. Evaluated
several other BGM and insulin pump opportunities.
* Teamed with VP Manufacturing, President AsiaPac and India Country
Manager to gain approval for BD's first plant in India. Recruited
by AsiaPac President for VP Finance position.
Controller, Worldwide Advanced Diagnostics (1989-1993)
* Built finance team that implemented global planning, budgeting,
forecasting, CAPX, financial reporting and analysis, R&D and
product cost processes for immunodiagnostics start-up. Presented
