Director, Telecommunications (2005-2009)
Reporting to the Vice President, Technology, directed team that included the sta
ffs of Data Network, Voice Network, and PBX Operations. Upgraded technology, net
work security and systems to support the fast growth and leading edge technology
required to better serve customers and to maintain a competitive edge in the ma
rket. Managed staff of 30-50 associates with three direct reports.
Led the team that designed and built a 10G fiber ring around Columbus connectin
g the local OhioHealth hospitals, revenue cycle and OCLC secondary data center s
ites. Improved throughput and management of data and voice traffic throughout th
e organization.
Directed the data network team that implemented a wireless technology infrastru
cture throughout the Columbus, Ohio hospital campuses and related sites, enablin
g the implementation of a new Patient Safety Application.
Led the network and telephony teams that built Dublin Methodist Hospital, which
included the implementation of wireless technology. Led first implementation in
a large scale setting of Vocera, a personal communication device. Named one of
the Top 25 Wireless Hospitals in the U.S. by Wired Magazine.
Led the network and telephony teams building Westerville Medical center, implem
enting VOIP technology and Vocera throughout the campus.
Led structured problem solving process leading to quicker identification and so
lutions and resulting in shorter downtimes.
Managed implementation of voice and data technology for new Revenue Cycle Facil
ity, relocating corporate offices and constructing Grant Medical Centers tower.

Developed and managed the multi-million dollar project budgets for all data and
voice network projects for the corporation, several of which are mentioned abov

Director, Operations (1999-2005) Grant/Riverside Hospitals
Reporting to the Vice President, Information Services, responsible for Computer
Operations, Voice Technology, and the PBX Operations during multi-year consolida
tion of Riverside Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical. Key player in multiple m
ajor transition initiatives. Managed infrastructure and system upgrades at Docto
rs Hospital during acquisition by OhioHealth.
Led the team that improved telephone expense management processes that resulted
in initial annual savings of over $300k. Continued to manage these expenses bot
h contractually and operationally to minimize ongoing costs and incorrect billin
g charges.
Data Center Manager (1986-1999) Grant Medical Center
Responsible for Computer Operations department, Technical Support staff, Telecom
munications and the Help Desk. Led multiple replacements and upgrades of equipme
nt and software.
Engineered a very complex move from a mainframe environment, to a client server
environment in support of a new Hospital Information System. Developed and mana
ged a 6 million dollar budget for this project.
