* Supervised and managed 25-30 hourly employees involved in packaging many vario
us nut products. Fisher Nuts was the flagship product, but produced and packaged
nut products for virtually all major store brands throughout the United States,
and some international brands.
* Managed the packaging line placement of numerous temporary employees on a dail
y basis, depending upon the needs of the organization.
* Coordinated schedules, frequent changeovers, and the deployment of maintenance
resources to assure reaching the case commitments of each packaging line.
* Interviewed and was integral in hiring new machine operators and material hand
lers, and followed up on the fact that they were trained well in their new posit

Was accountable for all three shifts of one system. Managed case requirements, c
hangeovers and business communication to the operators on that system. Managed p
ackaging hold order re-work for system on all three shifts, along with sanitatio
n for the system. Came in one to two hours early to talk with day shift operator
s, and stayed into third shift for one to two hours also. Was on call 24 hrs. pe
r day for issues on system.
* Solved a problem with open liner complaints from consumers by pointing out a f
law in the liner seal jaws. Reduced consumer complaints for open liners by 30%.
* Facilitated a 5S program (a 5 step method of organizing a work area to increas
e efficiency and productivity) on the packaging line, resulting in a much more o
rderly work area and efficient level of production. Production levels increased
by 10%.

* Structured and maintained a 5S system in three separate cereal systems, which
cleaned up and organized those systems, making them more efficient. Increased pr
oductivity by approximately 10%.
* Shot, designed and produced video training programs for the startup of a new c
ereal system, and installed them on computers in control rooms. Decreased time s
pent training operators by 20%.
* Spent one year as a plant warehouse supervisor, helping to implement a new com
puterized inventory system, and training the fork-lift drivers on its operation.
