Material Planning & Logistics daily duties included managing all activities on t
he shipping and receiving docks, managing a verity of JIT schedules to multiple
Ford assembly plants, scheduling production runs for all parts based on customer
s' productions volumes as communicated to Visteon through CMMS, enforcing plant
safety rules, managed and implemented various projects to improve communication
plant wide, managed relationship with UAW workforce and scheduled employees base
d on production levels.
* Designed and implemented Kanban part delivery system to production lines base
d on customer demands. The process included parts delivery to specific producti
on areas on set schedules to maintain proper rotation of inventory. The process
flowed from ordering to production, reducing component carrying costs. Started
out working with MIT engineers on initial design, but completed project without
them. This reduced the plant's consulting costs for the project, estimated at
$200,000.
* Reorganized the "General Stores", which housed all the parts and specialty to
ols required to maintain the injection and blow molding presses. The departmen
t was left unmanaged for several years, resulting in being over staffed and carr
ying excessive inventory. In 1 year, I reduced the staff from 10 to 6 people an
d reduced inventory from $4.6 million to $2.6 million. While improving efficien
cies and cycle check results. This was achieved through process changes, writin
g efficient work procedures, and working closely with vendors and plant engineer

in more cohesive decisions. The consistency of scheduling decisions across th
e three shifts improved the plant perception of the scheduling department, which
allowed for the decisions made to be implemented without production second gues

nventory and lowered production cost by approximately $150,000 annually.
