Professional Experience

1999-Sept, 2009 Siemens Senior Software Engineer


Lead Java UI Development for a systems engineering and requirements
products called Teamcenter Requirements (TcR) and Teamcenter for
Systems Engineering (TcSE). Brought in as the first Java developer in
1999, developed an iterative, rapid software development methodology
for the team to use, designed and developed major portions of the UI
in Java Swing, and continued enhancing and maintaining the system
through many product releases.

Designed, coded, implemented, enhanced, and tested most all parts of


the UI over 10 years, including the User and Admin modules where a
user navigates a hierarchical folder structure, works directly within
a tree table, and can asses a range of features organized into tabs.
Architected the Search module which gives the user the choice of
Basic, Intermediate or Advanced search.

Designed and implemented a floating tab feature to allow tabs to be


opened in separate windows and then re-docked when needed. Used
Intellij IDEA and Eclipse IDEs along with .Ant job automation, JUnit
testing, and multiple code repositories (Source Safe, CVS and
Perforce).

1997-1999 Alcatel Web Developer


Led a project to create an Internet product documentation system
using Java to access an Oracle database. Java server code processes
HTML pages for end-users. Internal, administrative personnel use Java
Applets.

Designed and wrote Java servlets to edit and process a form, save
information to a Random Access File, and send email. Wrote a
multi-platform Java install application to install documentation from
a CD to the user's computer (PC or UNIX).

1989-1997 EDS Advanced Systems Engineer


Web Based Projects
Led projects to develop Web based applications using HTML,
JavaScript, and C-CGI. Developed a Java prototype for tracking
customer orders for web services. Built a data model and Oracle
tables for multiple applications to share common data involving
security, customers, people, sites, and products. Created working
prototypes with HTML and JavaScript. Created and taught a 3 day web
development course covering HTML, Image Maps, Animated GIFS,
CGI-Forms, and Java Script. Led projects to develop Web pages for
Intranet sites.

Non-Web Based Projects


Led numerous projects through all phases of development. gathered
requirements, wrote technical specifications, and coded programs for
projects. Projects ran on UNIX, Intel PCs, Macintoshes, hand-held
scanners, and mainframes using such languages as C, COBOL, DB2, CSP,
and 4D. Evaluated products and made purchase recommendations.

Designed screens and coded IMS programs during development of a


Non-sufficient Funds and Overdraft (NSF/OD) system, a Currency
