nd ad revenue.
Vice President of Technology, Founder
Innovated methods for enhancing Internet and PC game experience garnering 10 pat
ents for 4 projects.
PromulGate rendered a message, such as a TV-styled commercial, during the wait t
ime for a PC modem negotiating for a connection using a dial up connection.
Starburst (a.k.a. ImageAccelerator) de-construct an graphic image then send it a
cross a slow connection and re-construct it with the most important part of the
image appearing first.
StrobeBlasterTM enhanced PC computer games by positioning lights and strobes aro
und the user.
Developed business plans. Wrote drafts of patents. Met with prospective investor
s. Delivered the PromulGate Paper to the Internet management committee at a Japa
nese based conference. Supported IP efforts. Consulted on additional projects in
cluding an e-commerce solution to boost sales and improve customer service level
s.
Operational Highlights:
Patented products for the U.S., U.K., and Canadian market.
Successfully sold the StrobeBlasterTM patent.
Distributed PromulGate via the file sharing program, Kazaa.

MRTMICRO, Boca Raton, Florida * 1989-1999

A startup company (now defunct) that developed a smart camera solution customize
d as a security device.
Director of Intellectual Property
Recruited to set up an IP environment to gather patentable ideas. Fostered team
work and motivated staff to generate ideas and solutions.
Operational Highlights:
Docketed and Submitted patents.
Constructed an optical bench to evaluate versions and features of the security c
ameras, a much needed tool in the development process.

INTERAXX, Miami, Florida * 1997-1998

A startup company (now defunct) that developed a product that is similar to what
is now known as TIVO.
Chief Scientist
Developed and patented all aspects of the Digital Video Recorder with a credit c
ard reader. Instituted the pizza part idea meeting to boost morale and maximize
creative flow. Assisted in presenting the box and follow-on ideas, to investors
and clients.
Operational Highlights:
Applied for patents on all key aspects of the INTERAXX Set Top Box with a credit
card reader.
What i instituted here was the pizza party idea meeting similar to what i did at
The Panda Project. (see below) hese parties were held during lunch and they di
d tend to help with the morale of the company which was poor because of the fund
ing issues.

THE PANDA PROJECT, Boca Raton, Florida * 1995-1996

A startup company (now defunct) with a focus on developing new connectors, IC pa
ckages and upgradable computers.
Director of New Product Applications
Certified the high I/O IC package called VSPATM. Developed a partnership with Ge
orgia Tech which allowed direct employees the opportunity to work on additional
projects. Wrote technical papers for publication and presentation at technology
conferences. Consulted and advised the director of technology sales to enhance
product offerings and close deals.
Operational Highlights:
Saved company $100K by recommending a partnership with Georgia Tech.
During a trip to Korea with the CEO, facilitated a cooperative agreement with LG
semiconductors by providing superior sales support.
Became the gate keeper for all IP that was developed at The Panda Project. (abou
t 8, of which 2 were joes)
Started a Pizza and soda bi-weekly meeting that built team spirit and generated
several ideas that were key to manufacturing and development.
Fueled revenue for a finger print scanner by restructuring the VSPATM IC package
for greater product visibility.
Technical Publications:
Introduction of a 3-dimensional semiconductor package : VSPA TM

ADDITIONAL CAREER HISTORY
IBM, East Fishkill, New York & Boca Raton, Florida * 1969-1995
Interdivisional Technical Liaison from Boca Raton (1982-1986)
I was chosen for this corporate level position to represent East Fishkills (~ 1
3 thousand employees) circuit design community. IBM had several locations that w
ere working on analog and digital circuits. In many cases there were duplicate p
rojects with different solutions, and or waisted efforts. In addition there are
internal IBM politics. Recognizing this IBM had innovated a community of Liaiso
ns that were experts from the different locations. Each year we would meet to di
scuss the problems / solutions from each location. The goal was to eliminate po
litics and to combine efforts or eliminate inferior solutions. All was well at
the conference but some times the Liaison had the pleasure to explain that a dif
ferent location had a solution that was better. In some case significant money (
millions) were saved. In other cases the competitive solutions were allowed to c
ontinue so as to have a back up. I was first named the Interdivisional Technical
Liaison from East Fishkill but then was also given this responsibility from Boc
a.
Tablet PC Technical Lead (1989-1991)
Delivered the first IBM PC Tablet with a different OS; the first trans-reflectiv
e digitizing screen; innovative magnesium package; and the industrys first Solid
State File. In particular: 1) Developed the industrys first nonvolatile IDE st
orage in conjunction with SanDisk. 2) Stepped in and developed a replacement bat
tery for the tablet in conjunction with Motorola when the plan of record battery
design failed. 3) Innovative conductive cooling methodology. 4) Volunteered to
use a tablet / camera / GPS smash up to help the Miami area after Hurricane Andr
ew. (1991)
PC Division Technical Advisor (1986-1991)
Was recruited from East Fishkill to help the Boca PC IC team develop the success
or to the PC, called the PS (Personal Systems) series.
Saved the PC division $3M+ by helping the team locate errors and developing and
patenting a new clocking technique.
IBM East Fishkill (1969-1986)
Advanced Development Group (1975-1985)
Interfaced between development and IBM research teams
Named East Fishkills Interdivisional Technical Liaison
Authored external papers on locked loops and clock extraction techniques.
Invented new circuit techniques.
Design Team Manager (1973-1975)
Produced 50 custom bipolar digital circuits.
Awarded an outstanding effort division award for developing the custom bipolar c
ircuits for the 3033 series, one of IBMs most successful main frame offerings ev
er
Junior Engineer Staff engineer (1969- 1973)
Worked in test equipment engineering and developed a good understanding of the m
anufacturing environmentat
Operational Highlights:
Developed 24 patents for the company.
Created 63 technical disclosure bulletins.
Awarded 11th plateaus for inventions.
Published the Fast Saturated LSI circuit technique which was published in a text
book by L.J. Herbst.
Delivered a paper at the Electronic Components Conference describing a pluggable
ceramic chip carrier.
Authored a section for the textbook, Microelectronics Packaging Handbook.
Invited to lecture at Cornell on Notebooks, Laptops and PCs.

blished in the IBM Journal of Research and Development.
A 50 to 400 Mbit/sec Single Chip Fiber Optic Receiver Circuit, delivered at the

Highly Manufactureable Multi-Layered Ceramic Surface Mounted Package, delivered
at the 1th IEEEE International Electronics Manufacturing Technology Symposium. T
his package is the main type of packaging used by high-value products such as mi
croprocessors.
