- Served as Technical Lead for the development of the Front Vertical Tilt Transm
ission using a DC Micro-Motor. Improved the packaging, reduced the mass by 270g
, decreased costs by $4.50 per unit, filed a Provisional Patent, and proposed th
e product for the 2011 Toyota programs.
Engineering Manager - DC Motors
- Served as Technical Lead for the development of new motor suppliers to replace
a troubled supplier. Created vendor statements of work, reviewed vendor produc
t capabilities, and improved supplier quality.
Principal Engineer - Front Seat Structures Engineering
- Managed/led the integration of JCI's European-developed Active Head Restraint
to the MS 3000 Seat Structure for North American use and developed an actuator t
o work with multiple lumbar systems ("Active Head Restraint System" is patent pe
nding).
- Managed/led the development of the MS 3000 Core Seat Structure ("Seat Frame Sy
stem and Method of Manufacturing" is patent pending) which could be welded by Re
mote Beam Laser, Gas Metal Arc Weld, or Resistance Spot Weld.
- The MS 3000 structure was used in the GM Lambda Series and the Nissan Altima,
and with minor modifications it was used in multiple DaimlerChrysler car/van mod
els and Dodge Ram trucks. It has also been proposed for 2011 and 2012 Nissan and
Toyota programs (with minor modifications).
- Led the development of a structural recliner attachment (patent pending - Mech
anically Locked Recliners).
- Worked on the team developing Lean Engineering for JCI and led the development
of Core Component Template Drawings.
- Managed/led the development of the Ford Ranger Seat Structure and the GM 235 S
eat Structure Program.
Principal Engineer - Advanced Engineering
- Managed/led the development of an Activity Center for Vehicle, PlaySeat, which
was integral with a center Seat Back (patented - "Activity Center for Vehicle")

Lead Project Engineer - Advanced Engineering
- Served as an active participant in the definition period of the Jeep Liberty a
nd led the development of the Jeep Liberty seats and seat mechanisms (patented -
"Child Seat Attachment System").
- Led the development of the Lincoln LS and Jaguar S-Type seats and seat mechani
sm. Received an Innovation Award from JCI for a "Self Adjusting Rear Seat Back
Latch".

- Led the development of the Mercury Villager/Nissan Quest Power Seat Adjuster (
patented - "Drive Nut and Screw for Seat Adjuster" and "Bushing for Reducing Lat
eral Looseness in a Pivot System").
- Led the VA/VE project to reduce the cost of the Power Seat Adjuster program an
d successfully reduced the cost by $2.17 each (annual savings of $3,470,000).

- Led the development of the Chrysler LH Power Seat Adjuster (patented - "Power
Seat Adjuster with Floating Drive Mechanism" and "Seat Belt Anchorage").
