AAMCO Transmissions, Inc., Huntsville, AL, 2009 - Present, President/Owner
Redirected marketing, training and capital equipment to align with changing bran
d image, market conditions and corporate strategy to provide total car care. In
creased business to business sales through networking in the Madison County Cha
mber of Commerce and Home Builders Association. Staffed for absentee ownership
or potential sale.
ABB Power T&D, Alamo, TN, 2005 - 2009, Supply Chain Manager
To support the manufacture of power transmission and distribution components, I
directed the purchase of $40 million in various electrical components from over
100 suppliers from around the world. By combining domestic supplier performance
and low cost country savings objectives I replaced eight poor performers for a
direct savings of $5 million. Despite the increased lead time, I reduced invent
ory from 10% to 8% of revenue.
As the manager of shipping, receiving and logistics I teamed with Fedex Freight
to improve crate design to reduce damage in a cost effective manner. I document
ed best practices of over 50 suppliers both domestic and international while per
forming quality and environmental audits. The international audits included the
United States customs compliance program(CT-PAT). This role required a high le
vel of cooperation and teamwork with the engineering and quality departments.
AL-FE Heat Treating, Defiance, OH (2000 - 2005)
Plant Manager (2002 - 2005)
I was promoted from the oldest facility to manage a Greenfield Tier 1 Heat Treat
ment operation dedicated to General Motors engine blocks. This included a hands
on rolls in Advance Product Qualification Process(APQP), Production Part Approv
al Process(PPAP), and ISO/TS16949 Certification for the launch of in-line four a
nd five cylinder engine block program. I also ensured OSHA compliance in the bu
ilding and installation of the production equipment. After certification, I hir
ed and trained all employees on the use of automated material handling, touch sc
reen controls and furnace equipment. A fundamental understanding of metallurgy
was a must for this position.
Ultimately, I was the primary contact to the General Motors foundry for all prod
uction and quality activities. In these areas I out-performed all five other di
visions in quality and delivery metrics from start up until leaving that positio
n.
AL-FE Heat Treating, Operations Manager, Columbia City, IN (2000 - 2002)
Promoted to Plant Manager
I supervised production and maintenance activity on three shifts using six style
s of furnaces to serve a customer base of over 200 across aluminum and ferrous p
roducts.
Within twelve months of hire I improved the internal safety audit score from 54
to 91 in the role of OSHA compliance officer.

Production Manager (1997 - 2000)
I Supervised the custom color matching department and provided extensive technic
al sales support as well as purchasing. I applied analytical, logistical and le
adership skills in the manufacture and delivery of technical color standards for
customers include Nike, M&M/Mars, Hewlett Packard and two Big Ten Universities
. I reduced Nike program cycle time by fifty percent while increasing profit ma
rgin 30% and providing Nike with a 20% cost reduction through incentive based pr
icing.
Cost Estimator (1995 - 1997) promoted to Production Manager
I calculated project costs for marketing tools for the paint industry based on a
complete understanding of the production process. I also provided direct sales
and customer support to the major paint companies, providing ideas for cost eff
iciencies within their respective marketing tools.
Towne Air Freight, Fort Wayne, IN, 1992 - 1995

I supervised freight pickups for 35 local route drivers as well as nightly hub o
peration where approximately 2,500 packages were transacted between 12 cities fo
r this regional Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight carrier. Critical thinking an
