Coordinated plant activities through planning to ensure that total manufacturing
objectives were accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Enforced th
e safety program for all refinery equipment, such as pumps, turbines, compressor
s, fractionation–distillation towers, boilers, heaters, pressure vessels, pollution
control equipment, reactors, and catalyst regenerators. Regularly reviewed safet
y records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all employees. Instrumental
in viewing trends as well as in reading and interpreting analyzers and laborator
y data to keep all products within specifications. Assumed full responsibility f
or assigned shift regarding equipment removal/return to service and lock-out/tag
-outs for maintenance.
Notable Achievements:
- Recognized as “A†qualified operator for achieving the highest level an hourly o
perator could obtain in the Delaware City refinery thru several owners
- Assumed the foreman responsibilities in 1992 when needed then subsequent
ly promoted to be a regular employee in 2007 for Valero
- Functioned as a control room operator responsible for controlling the re
finery processes by monitoring pressures, temperatures, and flows
- Fulfilled several special assignments, such as PHAs and reviewing unit P
&ID drawings
- Served as a significant member of the Fire Brigade and Hazmat first resp
onder and worked on several investigations as a trained top investigator
