Dear Administrator:
I am forwarding my resume for your consideration. I am presently self-employed
in Tarpon Springs, Florida where I came to care for my ailing mother. In as muc
h as this crisis has passed, it's time for me to move on from here and intend to
relocate immediately upon accepting a suitable position.
Having originated from a small town in Florida, I developed a strong sense of co
mmunity and became acquainted with the many different types of people and becomi
ng familiar with their residence, their struggles, challenges and simple joys.
I benefited greatly from these experiences and they served as the basis for my s
trong moral and ethical principles, which continue to serve me well to this day
as an attorney and part-time professor of criminal law and business law.
After law school, I practiced civil litigation in New Haven, Connecticut before
moving to Daytona Beach, Florida to work as a State Prosecutor. Thereafter, I m
aintained my private practice representing criminal defendants, some family acti
ons and served as Associate General Counsel then General Counsel for Coastal Flo
rida PBA representing primarily LEO's throughout the State of Florida. My work
with the PBA consisted of responding on scene to critical incidents such as offi
cer involved shootings, representing members in internal affairs investigations,
filing grievances and negotiating. This work required substantial research and
application of relevant laws to contracts in order to best serve PBA members. I
therefore know that it takes commitment, dedication and intelligence to be effe
ctive and successful in this field and I am motivated by the feeling of achievem
ent that results from meeting challenges successfully.
As you may have guessed, I am significantly self-directed, but I also work well
as a group player. I am comfortable delivering presentations to large or small c
rowds, have a great sense of humor and possess the patience to diligently work t
hrough complicated issues.
I am excited about the opportunity that may be offered and meeting with you furt
her to discuss this position; to be sure, my application on motion to the Virgin
ia Bar is pending. I am available to interview via telephone or in person at yo
ur discretion. Please contact me at the e-mail or phone number listed above.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
