faculty file arranged alphabetically atcording to courss. The file contains
evaluations of the professors ·of most of the common courses and is especially
helpful when pre-enrolling for casses. These aqditions together with the old
policies are all designed with the final aim of improVing the scholarship of
all our members 'J time will tell as to the merits of our program.

SPRING SING

On March 25th a group of hoarse sounding Tekesslowly headed for the Menls
Gym to participate in this year's Spring Sing. After the atmosphere hd c'leared
they had walked off With two second place awards and comments such as: "Sounded
like Fred Warmg's group,lI IIgreat spirit,'" and "too bad about Jud." We
• . •
. • •

had been entered into twodtvisions:, first, novelty, in which we sang IIPore
Jud is Daid,tt and, second, ments groups, in which we presented IlOklahQma" and
II Surrey with the Fringe on Top.1I With the enthusias,m shown for this Sing, we
hope to come home with two first places next year_ •••.• The Sing was ably directed

by Robin IIWaringll HARRIS.

PLEDGE DANCE

This semester's pledge dance carried a gangster mood, with deoorations' em
iniscent of the Prohibition era. Highlight of the festive evening was a large
maze that one had to encounter in order to enter the living room • . At last count
four couples were lost and seven searoh parties had been launched. The 'living
room was filled with sawdust; consequently more dancing was' done on the floor
than the conventional way . The only complaint h eard was that Al NELSON would
have made it' home all right if some darn fool hadn't stepped on his ingers com
ing around the last corner • • • •• Hoodlums at the dance had a happy time at the
oocktail party given at Al Nlso
. n 's house.

TEKES TAKEN

,Fraters eternal that fell to the grasping arms of campus maidens were many
this semester. Under the influenoe a nd techniques of fellow fratrs and through
the lectures g'iven in the second and third ,floor barns on the merits of women,
many members were able to go ou t and win the girl o f their choosing. From now
on, the fraters who have fulfilled the ultimate aim (of their girls) will be put
on the TKE Advisory Committee for the benefit of the iovelorn • . The following
men (?)h ave been placed on the committe1 Dick SCHUETTGE, married; Gay VIRDEN,
engaged; John RICHARDSON, e ngaged; Tom SMITH, pinned; Jaok GRAUSS, pinned; Bob
COLLINS, pinned; Bob SHARP, pinned; Fred SCHOTT, pinned; Bob KEASBEY, pinned,
and Don McINTOSH, pinned.

SOCIAL SCENERY

Nu Chapter Spring social season started off with the Spring Initiation Dane,e.
Spirits were high from the Initiation banquet and were higher after the cocktail
party, which was held at Terry WOLLTER S T home. A four piece band provided dance....
able music throughout the evening. A Cal basketball game on TV at the cocktail
party made averyone a little late to the dance, but no one was worried -- except
the band leader • • • • • At every opportunity we roll up the rugs and have record
dances. These small, informal gatherings are highlighted by the music of big
name orchestras • ••• .• Otlier highlightsof our social scene are the many ex
changes we have had with different sororities. Also an exchange was arranged
with the nurses from Provl'd€mce -Hospital. Many fraters found the nurses congen
ial, as well as interesting.

Mariy of the house players were haJ:J:q?ered by injuries . during the end of league
