Skills and Experiences:
1. Purchasing/ Supply Chain Management
Over 14+ years experience within the Purchasing/Materials operations for Texas
Instruments, 2 TIER-1 Contract Manufacturers and 1 smaller CM.
Worked directly with new and existing customers to manage the all aspects of ma
terial procurement and ensure we meet their production and NPI goals and expecta
tions.
Held key positions as a Buyer/Planner and as Senior Buyer/Planner for productio
n and NPI procurement supporting V Military; Industrial; Medical and Telecommuni
cations.
Researched and trained Buyers on Military procurement V Sourced Control documen
ts; MIL-SPEC; QPL; Cage Code; traceability and provided various web links to key
military sites.
Assigned as the Plant Commodity Manager to manage the Supply base and support e
scalations when in a line down situation. I negotiated and implemented SCM initi
atives, such as: KANBAN (Hardware, Packaging and MRO), Supplier Owned Inventory
contracts (VMI), and EDI to help buyers manage their MRP and suppliers more eff
iciently. Presented, along with the Supplier, to numerous companies supply cha
in professionals (BAE, Honeywell, Goodrich, Sonus, etc) how we setup KANBAN, VMI
and other programs at Jabil, Ma. .
I developed and monitored a set of criteria for our Value-added and Key Supplie
rs for the MA Plant.
Worked with the Corporate Quote Team to review and negotiate pricing for new an
d existing customers.
Developed and negotiated a Supplier-to-Commodity matrix for the quote team to u
se to get the best pricing and quick turn around for these Suppliers.
I joined the Corporate Regional Commodity Team as a Regional Commodity Manager
(RCM). In this role, I supported 5 Jabil plants and their buyers on all Passive
products, negotiation of price breaks, the setup of SCM initiatives at their pl
ant, etc and assisted other RCMs on my team with there commodities as needed.
Conducted On-Site audits of vendors facility to ensure they met the ISO9001 and
/or AS9100 and Jabil Requirements.
Worked with the Quality teams to present and get closure on Supplier Corrective
Action and Resolution (SCAR).
Conducted ROHS audits on PCB, Stencils, and Metal Shops to certify that they co
mply with or are working to get compliance with ROHS IPC-1751.
Managed supplier related ISO procedures.
I provided a number of customers with a Life Cycle Analysis of their AVL. This
analysis identified potential material bottlenecks due to a part being sole sou
rced, at its end of life, or having a long lead time. I would offer part crosse
s, if available, or recommend a particular supply chain program that would ensur
e material availability with the least amount of liability. In addition, I woul
d also offer adding our strategic partners to their AVL for cost savings and glo
bal leverage as needed.
2. Leadership/Management
Over 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Active Duty and Army Reserve Officer - hol
ding various leadership; project management, and administrative positions. Supe
rvised over 140 soldiers and later asked to managed all aspects of personnel and
administration for over 3,000 soldiers stationed in three separate army post as
a Captain filling a Majors position. Receiving the rank of Major in 1994 after
leaving Active Duty in 1993.
Manufacturing Supervisor over 30-40 employees on 2nd and 3rd shift manufacturin
g at TI on SMT, Auto Insertion,
Flow Solder for through hole, touchup and repair, test (HP, GENRAD, Sun Micro SP
ARC Chips), and final burn in and pack out of TI printers and notebook computers
.
Lead and trained 6 Sigma Teams for manufacturing process improvement at TI. Us
ed SPC to track, monitor and adjust production operations to decrease defects an
d reduce bottlenecks within my manufacturing lines.
Lead and coached Supply Chain teams in areas of Kanban setup and processing; Lo
gistical Management; Obsolescences Management; Supplier Audit and Selection - fr
om PCB to Passives.

3. Project Management
Setup and managed the Notebook Customer Return Process which decreased the inve
ntory time of RMA products from over 2 months to 2-4 weeks. Through audits of T
IER-1 service supplier to do Notebook and Printer refurbished repairs and ship d
irectly to the end customer from their location, I was able to negotiated a cont
ract with the service supplier to provide TI an estimated ROI of $150,000 per mo
nth in Notebook sales and approximately $30,000 per month in Printer sales.
Managed Texas Instruments advertised 24 hour turn around on the warranty and ou
t of warranty repair of printer and notebook computer.
Hired to Jabil as a Senior Buyer to setup and establish the new purchasing orga
nization in New England and the transfer a $1.5 Billion account from Michigan to
Billerica.
Procurement lead on implementing and startup actions related to procurement for
new customers.

4. Computer Skills
This is one area that I have grown. I am proficient with numerous software pro
grams such as: MS Software (MS Office, Project, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outl
ook, etc); Internet; ERP Systems (SAP and Oracle); WEBPLAN; Agile and numerous o
ther programs. In SAP, I became a trainer and a source/coach for numerous buyer
s on how to use SAP and assist them to do their jobs more efficiently. I unders
tand and can work with IT to setup E-Commerce systems in a company if needed.
