New plant to manufacture latest household products


Freudenberg Gala Household Product Pvt. Ltd. invests `20 crores in Adas
Site has an area of 30,000 square meters

Ahmedabad, June 3, 2011. Freudenberg Gala Household Product today held a


ceremony celebrating the official inauguration of its new plant at Adas. The
plant was especially honored by a visit by the Honorable Minister of State for
Railways of India, Shri BharatSinh Solanki, and the Honorable Minister of
Finance of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Raghavji Savla. After a construction period of
only ten months, the plant has now been inaugurated. The total investment was
`20 crores. Dr. Klaus-Peter Meier, CEO of Freudenberg Household Products,
and Jatin Tarachand Gala, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board of
Freudenberg Gala Household Product Pvt. Ltd., said that the day was a further
key milestone in the two companies' successful partnership.

"We are convinced of the very good future prospects of our joint venture. Together
we will further improve our service for customers and continue to grow successfully
on the Indian market thanks to this new plant," Jatin Gala, Chief Operating Officer
and Member of the Board of Freudenberg Gala Household Product Pvt. Ltd. stated in
the presence of the entire Joint Venture Board and Dr. Jörg Matthias Großmann,
Regional Representative of the Freudenberg Group in India. “The new plant will be
an important, first milestone to further build FHP’s presence in India and abroad. A
further expansion and the build-up of an R&D function are already in the planning
phase”, said Dr. Meier. The new advanced factory of Freudenberg Gala Household
Product Pvt Ltd. is to produce mechanical household cleaning products. The site has
a total area of 30,000 square meters, with a production area of 5,500 square meters
and 2,500 square meters of storage space. Over the next four years, the plant is to
be continually expanded.
Freudenberg Gala Household Product Pvt. Ltd. is a leading supplier of mechanical
cleaning products in India. Products for daily domestic use and for the professional
cleaning sector are produced and marketed under the Gala® brand name. The
company was established in August 2009 and is a joint venture of Freudenberg
Household Products, Germany, and Gala Brush Limited, India. Freudenberg holds a
60-percent stake in the joint company, which is managed by an experienced team
from the two partners. Currently, more than 240 associates work for Freudenberg
Gala Household Product Pvt. Ltd. – and the number is still growing.
