assignment with American Express Technologies division supporting

I managed Program Administration unit of Technology Department of
TODO1 reporting to CTO and providing project portfolio management
services for infrastructure, security, and special projects
supporting Office of the President and Executive Management team. Two
senior project managers reported to me.
RESPOND TO MRA'S RAISED BY OCC TO MERCANTIL COMMERCEBANK
Corrected, and achieved full compliance on, 14 OCC-MRAs (Office of
the Comptroller of the Currency's Matters Requiring Attention) over a
period of 15 weeks. Corrected MRAs included the following results:
redesign of TODO1's Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for each
organizational unit; developing Data Center's Disaster Recovery (DRP)
Plan; rebuilding and successfully testing remote, hot-DR facility with
SunGard. Obtained KPMG Advisory Services' certification of redesigned
BCPs and DRP. TODO1 achieved a reduction of disaster recovery period
(downtime) from 48 hours to less than two hours.
RELOCATION OF TODO1'S COLLOCATED (HOSTED) DATA CENTER
Directed and collaborated in relocation of TODO1's data center that
hosts client web sites for online, internet banking for its three
client banks. Established new communications links with each client
bank's financial applications/data bases that fulfill online banking
requests for bank's customers. Achieved relocation of data center to
new hosting collocation facility, Terremark, with no impact to
TODO1's online banking web sites and operations of its three client
banks. Over 100 servers running under Solaris and Windows server,
Oracle databases, connected through LAN, CISCO routers, SAN (data
storage,) and new telecommunications links were physically relocated
over a period of three weeks.
IDENTIFICATION, QUALIFICATION, AND ASSESSMENT OF E-PPM TOOL
Directed search, qualification, and cross-functional team assessment
of E-PPM (Enterprise Project Portfolio Management) tool set for
increasing TODO1's E-PPM capabilities, namely: complete visibility of
enterprise project portfolio, productivity of performing team
resources, and project's ROI. Prepared RFP for qualified vendors to
present how their E-PPM product capabilities would satisfy TODO1's
project portfolio and resource management requirements. Coordinated
presentations by each qualified vendor on their E-PPM tool and
compiled assessment of team. Product scores shared with management
for next step. Acquisition of recommended tool was deferred pending
approval of 2009 budget by Management Committee.

REENGINEERING OF TELEMARKETING PROCESSES FOR BRAZILIAN MARKET:
I managed development and deployment of new IT capabilities based on
real-time, computer-to-computer communications among networked servers
and mainframe supporting a competitive telemarketing sales initiative
in Brazilian market. Deployed solution enabled a 600% increase in
telemarketing product sales, provided instant assessment to prospects
of their new account application just captured by telemarketing agent,
reduced new account applications' capture-cycle from two calendar days
to less than two minutes, and supported cross-sales of other AMEX
products and services to approved prospects by agent. IT project
budget was $2MM, and project duration was 18 months. PLANNED,
COORDINATED, AND MONITOR PROGRESS OF FOUR LOCAL BRAZILIAN SERVICE
SUPPLIERS.
DEVELOPMENT OF 10-YEAR QUARTERLY PRODUCT STATISTICAL REPORTS AS PER
BANK OF BRAZIL REQUIREMENTS
Managed project performing team that developed quarterly statistical
reports covering a 10-year period as per regulatory specification
issued by Brazilian Central Bank to all payment card providers in
Brazilian market. AMEX achieved enterprise compliance with Central
Bank's due date and all statistical reporting specifications by using
an agile development approach and time-compressed project schedule.
