4) Describe your house or apartment. How many rooms are there, and which ones? Choose one room in
particular and describe it in detail (furniture, decoration...)
- House or apartment. “J’habite dans une (petite/grande) maison avec un jardin” ; “j’habite dans un appartement” (I live
in a small/big house with a garden; I live in an apartment).
- Number of rooms. “Il y a cinq pièces” (There are five rooms) ; “C’est un appartement de quatre pièces” (It’s a four room
apartment) ; “C’est un studio” (It’s a studio apartment).
- Type of rooms. “J’ai/Nous avons/Il y a un salon, une cuisine, deux chambres...” (I have/We have/There’s a living room, a
kitchen, two bedrooms...).
- Room’s description. “Dans mon salon, il y a un grand canapé, deux fauteuils, une table basse en verre, des cadres aux
murs...” (In my living room, there’s a large sofa, two armchairs, a glass coffee table, picture frames on the wall...) ; “Dans
ma chambre, il y a un lit, une table de chevet, une penderie, un bureau, un tapis, des plantes...” (In my bedroom, there’s a
bed, a bedside table, a closet, a desk, a carpet, some plants...).
