IV. SCHOLARLY ACTIVITIES A. Books This independent study is a personal interest that I am preparing for publication. It is a science fiction/supernatural-occult series where philosophy and theory serve as the framework. Science Fiction has evolved into a complex genre of writing where its become difficult to distinguish itself from reality and other forms of fantasy--since they are both polymerizing into a new concept. From my point of view, Science Fiction is the innovation of the organic existence used to conceive an alternate physical universe

that is equally dependent and challenged by the ambitions of the tools and will of the structure of the natural order. Synopsis of the Project The book is entitled The Chosen Titans of Seven Seals, or The Cho5eN. The Cho5eN is a seven book series that highlights the political discourse of environmental karma. In other words, it depicts how supernatural political actions executed for personal gain can alter the stability and natural order of the universe. The story follows a five-person team of young individuals--The Chosen--who each possess a special gift of naturemiracles of manipulation. The purpose of The Chosen is to use their miracles to preserve the physical universe that is Earth so that the planet will continue to serve as the foundation and timetable for dimensional portals, planes, and realms. They are agents of sustainability endowed with miracles of manipulation over rain, fire, metal, wood, and air. The book introduces a physical and spiritual aspect of their humanistic abilities. For example, each member of The Chosen has a Highlight of Humanity that offsets their miracle. For the miracles of rain, fire, metal, wood, and air, the Highlights are love, faith, hope, courage, and trust, respectively. According to an ancient prophecy, The Chosen are to act as guardians over the seven seals of sustainability (5 spiritual and 2 grounded) to allow "good" and "evil" to continue their eternal warfare on this particular battlefield--since it's the primary dimension. Eventually, a grand evil seeks to tip the scale of power by unleashing the demons within the seals, and The Chosen are forced to abandon their posts as agents in order to stop the release of the demonic energy. They are then granted the ultimate element of Lyphe that allows them to combat the harbingers of Aspiration, Nightmare, Animus, Despair, Mortality, Supremacy, and Fourfold only to discover the true consequences of their actions. In this particular society, the people are presented as constituents, or components, who contribute to the activity of the natural forces and development. They are known as elementals. Elementals are possessed with innate abilities that distinguish their existence from other human beings, but only spiritually. The book highlights different levels of elemental clase systems that are partly responsible for the development and outcome of the premise. The premise of The Cho5eN revolves around the strategies and purposes of these elementals. The Chosen is a group of five elementals who inherent these substantial qualities after they receive their calling, so their mission is based on their account as guardians of sustainability. Layout of the Project The book is broken up in to 22 chapters that compose a total of 300-450 pages. The first book is the introduction into the series, although the sixth and seventh books are actually the beginning of the storyline. The first book, The Chosen Titans of Seven Seals: Plague of the Black Zodiac, opens the series on a spiritual and subconscious-like announcement. This is where the audience will comprehend the meaning behind 8 seals of 7, with the eighth being a totem that serves as a key for the first seal, that make-up the story. The pages are written from the third person point-of-view with language and references that satisfy a maturely young-minded audience to a sophisticated, intellectual reader who can read between the philosophical lines. The story takes place in modern day New York State where the occurrences reflect what may possibly happen in reality. The twist in fantasy aspects are depicted through the supernatural clauses in the story. http://web.njit.edu/~jew3/TheCho5enhomepage/
