0 people, fear your Lord and fear a day when no father will suffice his son, nor will

a son be sufficing his father in the least. Surely, the promise of Allah is true. So, the worldly life must not deceive you, nor you
should ever be deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.[31:33]

"What relationship do I have with this world? I am in this world like a rider who halts in the shade of a tree for a short time, and after taking some rest, resumes his journey leaving the tree behind." (Ahmad, Tirmidhi)

"By Allah I don't fear for you poverty, but I fear that the world would be abundant for you as it has been for those before you, so you compete for it as they have competed for it, so it destroys you as it has destroyed them." (Agreed upon)
The Prophet said (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam), The dunya is home for

the one who has no home, and wealth for the one who has no wealth, Only the one who has no intellect gathers for it; only the one who has no comprehension acts according to its desires; only the one who has no knowledge will be punished for it; only the one who has no intellect will become jealous for it; and only the one who has no conviction strives for it. The Prophet said (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam), The dunya is home for the one who has no home, and wealth for the one who has no wealth, Only the one who has no intellect gathers for it; only the one who has no comprehension acts according to its desires; only the one who has no knowledge will be punished for it; only the one who has no intellect will become jealous for it; and only the one who has no conviction strives for it.

Ali (RA) expressed beautifully, Detachment is not that you should own nothing, but that nothing should own you."

Thawban narrated, that the Prophet (Sallahu Alayhi Salaam) said: Nations will soon summon (invite) one another to attack you, as people do when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Is that because we will be small in number at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum of the sea, and Allah will take fear of you (Muslims) from the hearts of your enemy and cast Wahn (A weakness) into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (Weakness), Messenger of Allah (Sallahu Alayhi Salaam) He replied: Love of Dunya (the world) and hatred of death. (ie the next life meeting Allah) Uthman ibn Affan said, "the one who leaves the dunya Allah Exalted will love him; and the one who leaves sins, the Angels will love him; and the one who has no craving for the possessions of the Muslims, the Muslims will love him."

Hatim al-Asamm said, There is not a morning that passes except that Satan says to me, What do you eat? What do you wear? Where do you live? I say to him, I eat death, I wear the shroud, and I live in the grave.

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) said, There will come a time for my ummah when they will love five things and forget five things they will love this life (dunya) and forget the life to come; they will love property and forget the grave; they will love wealth and forget the [Day of] Judgement; they will love their children and forget the truth; and they will love themselves and forget Allah. They have nothing to do with me and I have nothing to do with them.

A poet said: O you who seeks the hand of the dunya in marriage! Know that she has a new lover everyday She takes a husband now, yet gives herself at the same time to an other Elsewhere She only accepts lovers so that she may kill them in her bosom one by one I have been fooled and the affliction is spreading in my body little by little Ready yourself and take provisions for death, for the herald has called: tis time to leave, tis time to leave!
