APPENDIX

Hands-on Lab Exercises: Solutions

Chapter 13 contains a set of eight lab exercises designed to be done using a minimal amount of lab equipment. This appendix contains answers to the labs. The answers contain a screen shot of the labs being performed on real gear, with the commands performed in the order requested in the lab exercise. Comments are interspersed throughout the lab answer as needed. Some of the lab exercises have several dozen statements telling you what to do, so comments will be used to ensure that you do not get lost in the answer. Also, some tasks are difcult to show in a book, such as the process of connecting a cable. Comments will be used to address such items. This appendix does not tell you why a particular command was chosen[md]if you are confused about the commands, and why they are used, please refer back to the more basic examples inside the respective chapters.
