SEMESTER 5: FINAL GRADUATION PROJECTS

In order to graduate from ISOM, you will have two projects you will have to complete: one is done with a group (or partner) and one will be done individually. Both will be due on the day of yourfinal examination.

GROUP PROJECT
Objective: Make plans for how to start a specific ministry in your church. Assigned Ministry: ____________________________________ (each group will be assigned a different ministry by their ISOM Representative) *Note: You will NOT actually have to start this ministry in your church; this is just a task to PRACTICE how you could start one, if you felt called to do so. Three Requirements: Ministry Vision Statement Ministry Plan Ministry Needs List (refer to the directions sheet for explanations on how to complete these requirements) You will receive three hours of school time to work on this (whatever extra time is needed to finish this project will need to be done outside of school time with your group, at a time that you arrange together).

INDIVIDUAL PROJECT
Objective: Develop a personal vision statement and service plan related to how you plan to start/continue or pursue serving God and His Kingdom through your local church. Three Requirements: Personal Vision Statement Personal Service Plan Church Commitment (refer to the directions sheet for explanations on how to complete these requirements) You will receive one hour of class time to work on this (you will have to complete the rest at home as homework).

NOTE: Make sure the final work you turn

in meets all the requirements and is written LEGIBLY. If your ISOM representative cannot read it, it cannot be graded (if you have the ability to type it, that would be ideal, but is not required).
Contact your ISOM Representative with any questions or concerns.

SEMESTER 5: GROUP PROJECT Requirements, directions and examples

1) Ministry Vision Statement Write approximately one two sentences explaining WHAT the main objectives of this ministry are, and WHY it exists. Your vision statement should answer all of the following: o What is the goal/purpose of this ministry s existence? o Be sure to address who your ministry is serving specifically (ex: church body or outside community) o Make sure the purpose will glorify God and explain how it will do so *NOTE: Be careful not to make it too vast or extensive; start with a realistic expectation, which can be expanded later, as God guides. EXAMPLE HOSPITALITY TEAM: VISION STATEMENT Our vision is to provide a hospitable environment for guests and the church family, so they can feel the love of God through our actions. 2) Ministry Plan Outline HOW your ministry will fulfill its vision (achieve its objectives) in specific detail. Your ministry plan should address the following: o How will this ministry fulfill its goals? o Be sure to include a practical way it will meet every aspect of its vision o Make sure the plans are reasonable/realistic to achieve *SUGGESTION: Divide your vision into parts, then address each area as a question to be answered (see example below)

ISOM-HR/Sem5DiplomskiRadReqs

EXAMPLE HOSPITALITY TEAM: MINISTRY PLANS 1) How will we provide a hospitable environment for guests? We will have greeters at the door to shake their hands as they enter the church. We will give them a gift the day they first visit the church. 2) How will we provide a hospitable environment for the church family? We will have greeters at the door to shake their hands as they enter the church. We will offer them coffee and cookies after church so they can feel welcome to spend some time fellowshipping with one another. 3) Ministry Needs List Identify what this ministry will NEED in order to achieve its goals and plans (ex: from the Pastor, church body, community, etc.). Your ministry needs list should consider the following: o WHO? o Who will be needed so this ministry can function effectively? o How many people are necessary? How many are ideal? o Describe what the team would need to look like, including what the responsibilities of the leader and team members would be. o WHAT? o What resources will your team need? Are they things that the church already has or will they need to be purchased? y If purchases need to be made, how much will they be (approximately) and how will they be paid for? What location(s) will this ministry need to utilize? *ADDITIONALLY: As you think about what kind of support you may need from the Pastor or church body, make sure it s reasonable, appropriate and realistic.

SEMESTER 5: INDIVIDUAL PROJECT Requirements, directions and examples 1) Personal Vision Statement Write approximately one two sentences explaining what the current and primary vision is that you feel God has specifically called, gifted and equipped you for. You will complete the following sentence: The current vision I feel God is calling me to fulfill is *NOTE: If you don t feel that God has put any specific vision on your heart yet, seek Him and His Word until you hear from Him about this. THINK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING TO HELP YOU ALONG: y What gifts/talents has God blessed you with? y Is there anything you are specifically passionate about (i.e. evangelism, youth, prayer, education, helping those in need, discipling new believers )? o If you are not sure what you are passionate about, think about what makes you angry (i.e. broken marriages, seniors who are alone, disunity in the Body of Christ, teen suicide, families without food .); oftentimes that anger can be turned into a positive fire that God ignites in you and uses so that YOU help others. y Is there a need being unmet in your church or community that you may be able to help meet? y Think about what you have to offer (i.e. time, friendship, knitting skills, gift for cooking, etc.), rather than focusing on what you don t currently have, or the things you wished you had; God wants to use you right now. VARIOUS EXAMPLES A. The current vision I feel God is calling me to fulfill is to evangelize my city for Christ. B. The current vision I feel God is calling me to fulfill is to start a women s ministry in my church. C. The current vision I feel God is calling me to fulfill is to be a servant in my church on the cleaning team.

3) Church Commitment Make a signed commitment to your church, promising to serve God and His Kingdom in partnership together for God s glory, under their authority and guidance (refer to the project template for the commitment statement).

*NOTE: ISOM is requiring this final part of your project because it will fulfill one of our fundamental goals--to equip believers for service to God&His Kingdom, within their local church. If a student were to graduate from ISOM and not pursue this goal, we have failed. While a side goal of ours has been that each student would be blessed and grow spiritually as a result of hearing the lectures and doing their homework, personal spiritual edification was never the primary goal we hoped each student would achieve. Turning knowledge into action and ultimately SERVICE to God is what our school is all about. We hope you are ready to fulfill this calling, as we do plan to hold you accountable to fulfill the commitments and goals you outline for us in your final individual project. Please contact your ISOM Representative if you have questions or concerns related to fulfill the requirements of your final projects.
TO COMPLETE YOUR INDIVIDUAL PROJECT, JUST FILL OUT THE PERSONAL PROJECT TEMPLATE
