Instructions: Existing AICTE approved Institutions

Instructions to Existing AICTE approved Institutions for processing of applications in respect of Grant of Approval for the following as on 03/06/2011 1. Extension of approval to existing Technical Institution / Technical Campus 2. Increase / reduction in intake in existing courses 3. Adding course/s in existing program 4. Closure of program / course 5. Mandatory provision of supernumerary seats for TFW 6. Introducing / continuing / discontinuing supernumerary seats for PIO 7. Introducing / continuing / discontinuing seats for sons / daughters of NRIs 8. Change of name of the Institute 9. Conversion of Womens Institution into Co-Ed Institution 10. Introducing a Foreign Collaboration with an AICTE approved Indian Institution Information Scrutiny of Applications and Documents has been completed in all Regions of AICTE Deficiency reports uploaded or are being uploaded currently The Applications, Documents, Deficiency Reports and the Scrutiny Committee reports are being processed by the respective Regional Committees The Regional Committee will consider these reports along with views of concerned State Government / UT and affiliating University / Board, if any, and shall forward the recommendations of the applications for further processing for issuance of Letter of Approval or otherwise to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee in its meeting shall finally recommend the Letter of Approval or otherwise for points 1-10 as above. All the Results are to be declared from 11/06/2011 Details of making an application for Appeal All not recommended applications for any of the points at 1-10 as above shall be allowed appeal. The applicant shall use copy of the application printed by them, through web portal for corrections neatly handwritten, in the box besides the earlier figures, and comply with the deficiencies as indicated in the deficiency report. Each page of the above printed report shall be signed, dated by the authorised signatory with the name and designation neatly written and stamped with the official seal of the Institute.

These Corrected hard Copies shall be submitted to the respective Regional Offices between 11/06/2011 and 17/06/2011. Further to this process, these applications shall be processed for appeal. The recommendations of the above process shall be forwarded for further processing for issuance of Letter of Approval or otherwise to the Executive Council These results shall be notified on the AICTE Website on 30/06/2011 All applicants are advised not to rush to regional offices or the Head Office of AICTE for these queries and are further advised to check the website for instructions if any.

Instructions: New Institutions seeking AICTE approval


Instructions to New Institutions to be set up in 2011 2012 for processing of applications in respect of Grant of Approval for the following as on 31/05/2011 1. Setting up new Technical Campus offering one or more Technical Program at Degree, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma and Post Diploma Level 2. Converting Existing Technical Institutions into a Technical Campus 3. Adding new Technical Program/s at Degree, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma and Post Diploma Level in existing Technical Institutions Information Scrutiny and Re scrutiny of Applications and Documents completed in all Regions of AICTE Recommendations / Deficiency reports uploaded or are being uploaded currently Expert Committee Visits are completed for the scrutiny / re-scrutiny recommended cases The Applications, Documents, Deficiency Reports and the Scrutiny Committee and Expert Visit committee reports are being processed by the respective Regional Committees The Regional Committee will consider these reports along with views of concerned State Government / UT and affiliating University / Board, if any, and shall forward the recommendations of the applications for further processing for issuance of Letter of Approval or otherwise to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee in its meeting shall finally recommend the Letter of Approval or otherwise for points 1-3 as above. All the Results are to be declared from 11/06/2011 Not recommended applications for any of the points at 1-3 as above shall be allowed appeal. Applicants, whose applications are not recommended for approval by the Executive Committee, may submit an appeal within 7 days from the date of communication about non recommendation of applications. Applicants shall have only one opportunity for appeal. All appeals are to scheduled between 14th June 2011 to 18 June 2011 All appeal applicants shall be ready for presentation before the Appeal Committee as per the schedule notified to them.

Applicants are advised to adhere to given Appellate Committee schedule and not to remain absent for Appeal. If the applicant remains absent for Appeal, then in no circumstances what so ever, their applications / proposal shall be taken up by the appellate Committee in view of constraint of time for the given academic year and such Institutions if they so desire may apply afresh for the next academic session. Such Institutions remaining absent for any reason whatsoever shall not be entitled for any further appeal. The recommendations of the above process shall be forward for further processing for issuance of Letter of Approval or otherwise to the Executive Council These results shall be notified on the AICTE Website on 30/06/2011 Further Scrutiny Schedule for Regional Committee referred Scrutiny cases as per the Hon.Court directives, shall be extended to all Institutions not recommended by scrutiny or re-scrutiny committees in all the regions and such schedule shall be notified from time to time. All such cases shall be further processed as pert the procedure. The schedule tentatively for this RC referred Scrutiny and Expert visits if any is expected to be between 3rd June to 9th June 2011 All applicants are advised not to rush to regional offices or the Head Office of AICTE for these queries and are further advised to check the website for instructions if any.
