y name is Jenny Lee, and I am currently a high schooler at an international school in Seoul, Korea. Attending this school has opened my eyes to the people around me who come from many different countries around the world and have been influenced by very diverse cultures. I have come to look beyond the evident physical differences of students and faculty here, thus developing a high regard for each person's unique characteristics. My experiences have led to the flourishing of my interest in becoming a surgeon so that I will be able to serve people of all backgrounds in a genuine, humane, and proficient manner. College Life Acceptance into desired colleges have been growing dimmer for students in the past few years, but this does not discourage me from striving for the best. I dream of attending an Ivy League college or another esteemed university, not because of the prestige, but because I know that I can receive one of the top educations available that will assist me in the work field. I really enjoy biology and plan on majoring it. Furthermore, I not only want to fulfill the prerequisites for medical school, but also engage in other activities that I enjoy such as music, athletics, forensic science, and journalism. I am willing to leave my doors open and perhaps pursue another career path or a major other than premedicine because I am interested in many fields. However, I am fairly consistent and will not give up on becoming a surgeon if it is due to failures and discouragements. In the Working World During and after medical school, I plan on becoming an intern in a large general hospital during my first few years of residency training. Through this position, I would like to explain surgical procedures to patients and family, provide one-on-one care, and accompany surgeons while they perform surgeries. I will keep on learning about new surgical procedures and technologies. In addition, I hope to volunteer at a clinic or an elder care facility to get first-hand experience. Such opportunities will train me to become a better surgeon and allow me to offer the best services possible to patients of any background and illness.

In the Working World

Step by Step on the Career Ladder

After the Pinnacle

Step by Step on the Career Ladder I would like to not only build up experience in a general hospital, but also in private practices. I want to communicate directly with patients with different diseases and embrace the opportunity of working in many different environments. I want to continue to educate myself in the specific surgery field and never stop trying to provide the best treatments. I will also continue being involved in community service. After the Pinnacle I plan on retiring a little earlier than most surgeons because I believe that I was called to serve those who are hurt and sick in underdeveloped countries. I want to use my earnings from my fruitful career to provide medicine and proper care to people who desperately need it but have never gotten the chance to see a doctor. I'm firmly set on packing my few belongings and leaving to those countries to give surgeries and provide treatment. I plan on achieving this dream and fulfilling the hopes of others until the time has come to leave this world.
