4. Description of the PhD project:

Geological Heritage - developing a new renewable geological resource for local economies. In the context of recent global development, when emphasis is stronger and stronger towards the green, recyclable and renewable resources, geology has to integrate in its portfolio of research and income generating activities also renewable resources such as geological heritage. The research will try to transfer geological elements from the sphere of aesthetic, educational and scientically valuable resources to income generating resources. The resulting methodology will be developed in a manner to ease application on a wide scale and emergence of a new green renewable geological resources based economical activity. Further more, in the geoscience community, there also is resilience and lack of condence in the efciency of such endeavors based on the misunderstandings and lack of communication. The research will provide the geoscientists' community the tools to approach the The aim of this PhD is to identify a methodology to asses geological heritage from the geological resources' perspective and to prepare platforms for science, education and economy-development that are using this geological resources' approach on geological heritage. The proposed study area is the proposed Buzu Country Geopark where I will be focusing on - developing a tool to assess the geological heritage value - researching the relationships between the geological heritage tools and the existing geodiversity assessment tools. - mapping local geological heritage - identifying areas of high geological heritage concentrations and - implementing development structures - income generating solutions - evaluating economical incomes: Income - spanning income in time , economical consideration, projections, side costs; Direct economical benets - minerals, fuels, building materials; Indirect economical benets - tourism, education, science, settlements - place identity ? (terrain prices); Non-economical benets - shelter, inspiration, health, faith.
