Executive summary
The success of a firm largely depends upon how effectively and efficiently it serves the existing and prospective customers. The management of the firm can be efficient only when there is proper planning and control on present and the future actions of the firm. Hind Engineering Works (HEW) is a record of successful evolution. Its pioneering vision and powerful drive to change ahead of times has pushed the group to become one of the finest and the most integrated manufacturer of crankshafts. Hind Engineering Works are in the line of manufacturing different types of Crankshafts for the last 35 years and rendering their services to well-known reputed Concerns. HEW is equipped with all necessary machinery, including Induction Hardening Plant. HEW have been certified ISO-9001-2000 Quality Systems accredited by Joint Accreditation systems of Australia & New Zealand. And very shortly they are going for T.S Certification. As a student of business administration, to get a practical knowledge of the functioning of an organization, this work has been conducted at Hind Engineering Works Pvt .ltd. this dissertation analyses the pros and cons of absenteeism to the smooth working of the organization. The frit falls have been identified to avoid causalities and negative effect of absenteeism This project was done for a period of two months. This report includes the study of absenteeism which is analyzed from different departments. After analyzing the activities, a questionnaire was framed for getting the knowledge about the ratio of absenteeism from

different departments. Recommendations/ suggestions were made on the same.
