HEAD NURSE

Definition It is managerial work, which involves accountability for maintaining high standards of professional nursing services, in the operation of a clinical or special unit. The work is performed under general management, allowing for the work out of individual judgment in directing subordinates. Incumbent may be mandated to work overtime when necessary to meet staffing requirements and related work, as required and assigned. General Objective As a student head nurse he/she will be able to obtain variety of ideas with the necessary things to get acquainted regarding the assigned tasks. He/she will be able to broaden his/her skills being the leader of the group, become a role model his/her to subordinates in terms of nursing skills and understanding of individuals strengths, weaknesses and potentials, and is committed to the team.
