Title: Impact of employee on performance

Introduction
Training is a learning process that involves the acquisition of knowledge, sharpening of skills, concepts, rules, or changing of attitudes and behaviors to enhance the performance of employees. Training is about knowing where employees stand (no matter how good or bad the current situation looks) at present, and where they will be after some point of time. The topic of the dissertation is impact of employee training on performance. The organization I have selected to conduct my research is ICI Pakistan (PVT) LTD. The purpose of my research is to define various expected outcomes of training of employees and to find out whether these outcomes are beneficent to the organization and employees or not.

Benefits of training
Here I will highlight those benefits of training that are achieved as a result of training. I will further discuss what the various effects of training on employee performance are and how this performance improvement benefits the overall working of the organization. Following are the various benefits of training which will further inform us of how closely these factors are interlinked with training:

Benefits for the organization


Training and Development helps in optimizing the utilization of human resource that further helps the employee to achieve the organizational goals as well as their individual goals. Training and Development helps to provide an opportunity and broad structure for the development of human resources technical and behavioral skills in an organization. It also helps the employees in attaining personal growth. It helps to develop and improve the organizational health culture and effectiveness. It helps in creating the learning culture within the organization. Training helps building the positive perception and feeling about the organization. The employees get these feelings from leaders, subordinates, and peers. Training and Development aids in organizational development i.e. Organization gets more effective decision making and problem solving. It helps in understanding and carrying out organizational policies Training and Development helps in increasing the productivity of the employees that helps the organization further to achieve its long-term goal. It helps in improving upon the quality of

work and work-life. Training and Development leads to improved profitability and more positive attitudes towards profit orientation.

Training and Development helps in creating the healthy working environment. It helps to build good employee, relationship so that individual goals aligns with organizational goal. Training and Development helps in improving the health and safety of the organization thus preventing obsolescence. It helps in creating a better corporate image. Training and development improves communication between group and individuals. It provides information on equal opportunities and affirmative action and also provides information on other government laws and administration policies. it Improves interpersonal skills Builds cohesiveness in group. Makes the organization a better place to work and live.

Benefits for the individual


Training and Development helps in developing leadership skills, motivation, loyalty, better attitudes, and other aspects that successful workers and managers usually display. It helps and individual in making better decision and effective problem solving. Through training and development, motivational variables of recognition, achievement, responsibility, and growth are internally operated. Training and Development helps in improving the morale of the work force. It aids in encouraging and achieving selfdevelopment and self confidence. it helps a person handle stress, tension, frustration and conflict. It provides information for improving knowledge, communication skills and attitudes. Increases job satisfaction and recognition Moves a person towards personal goals while improving interactive skills. Satisfies personal needs of a trainee Provides the trainee an avenue for growth in his or her future. Helps eliminate fear in attempting new task. Helps a person improve his listening skill, speaking skills also with his writing skills I will further emphasize on the relationship of training and development with the benefits mentioned above in my final report. I will now discuss briefly the phases of the training process. Training Need Analysis An analysis of training need is an essential requirement to the design of effective training. The purpose of training need analysis is to determine whether there is a gap between what is required for effective performance and present level of performance. Training Design The design of the training program can be undertaken only when a clear training objective has been produced. The training objective clears what goal has to be achieved by the end of training program i.e. what the trainees are expected to be able to do at the end of their training. Training objectives assist trainers to design the training program.

Training Implementation To put training program into effect according to definite plan or procedure is called training implementation. Training implementation is the hardest part of the system because one wrong step can lead to the failure of whole training program. Even the best training program will fail due to one wrong action. Training Evaluation The process of examining a training program is called training evaluation. Training evaluation checks whether training has had the desired effect. Training evaluation ensures that whether candidates are able to implement their learning in their respective workplaces, or to the regular work routines.

The Organization
The organization that I have selected is ICI Pakistan (PVT) Ltd .Its nearest corporate office is situated at 63-Mozang road Lahore.

Area under Consideration


The area that I will be focusing on is the training of employees and its relative effect on them and the overall organization. I want to find out the level of satisfaction of employees with the current training program and its relative effect on their performance.

Research Objectives
The reasons to conduct this study are as follows: a) To determine what training practices are being used in ICI? b) To determine how the training programs effect the performance of the employees at ICI? c) To measure the level of employee satisfaction with the training program. d) To measure the effectiveness of the training program on the overall working of the organization.

Materials and Methods


The Scope of Study: I will conduct research at ICI Lahore human resource management department. It will help understand what the importance of training is and how effective its practices are in the modern organizations. Duration of the study The duration of the study will be 2 and a half month. Sample size Sample size will be 25-50 employees at maximum. Sampling Technique Random Sampling Technique will be used. Data Collection procedure Designing the questionnaire I will design a questionnaire consisting of 24 closed ended questions. The designed questionnaires will be circulated among employees. Questionnaire will be designed in such a way that helps in analyzing the importance of effective training. Here I will use Likert Scale for analysis. Data Collection Tools: The instrument used for data collection is Questionnaire. It is Personally administrated Questionnaires

Independent variable Training being an independent variable here controls all the factors mentioned in the framework. Its effectiveness directly influences the effectiveness of the factors i.e. if training is successful it can pave way for the overall organizational success and vice versa. The success and failure of these variables is dependent on the effectiveness and accuracy of training. If an organization is providing the right training program to its employees, all of these variables will be facilitated but if training is not effective or is not provided at the right time then these variables suffer hence fail to yield the desired results. Hypothesis H0: if training is provided it will help in the development of human resources. H1: if training is given to the employees, it will insure optimum utilization of human resources. H2: if training is provided, it will increase the productivity and profitability of the organization. H3: if training is provided, it will improve the organization climate. H4: if training is provided, it will improve the organization culture. H5: if training is provided, it will pave way for organizational development H6: if training is provided, it will increase the interpersonal skills of the employees
