Access into the estate is via 2 gatehouses where residents have their own designated drive through entrance. To open the boom just press your thumb onto the biometric scanner and the boom will rise to allow you in. Nonresidents will use a separate entrance where the security guards will confirm with their hosts prior to allowing them access. The gatehouse will be the nerve centre of the estates security systems which include camera surveillance monitoring. The design of the gatehouse reflects the rustic architecture found throughout the entire estate and provides a welcoming reception to visitors.

Governments plans to decongest our major urban centres are part of the answer to the prosperity Kenya seeks in Vision 2030. The Nairobi Metropolitan ministry has already declared its intention to push out the city boundaries of Nairobi to cover a 100 kilometre radius from the city. This move is in line with trends in the developed world where the challenge to decongest big cities, create new investment and settlement opportunities has been overcome through systematic initiation of new self-contained satellite towns. Thus the vision of Thika Greens was born and the real opportunity in this model lies in wait for those with access to sizeable tracts of land where new developments can spring. The company identified a 1,135 acre parcel of land on which to develop two unique residential communities. The first is a middle income estate comprising of 900 residential plots in a secure serviced estate.
