FEE AND SCHOLARSHIPS
FOR CANDIDATES SEEKING ADMISSION FOR THE YEAR 2011-2012

Fees 1. ''School Fees'' is to be paid in advance and is charged in full for the entire academic year (1st April to 31st March). The fees include clothing fees, pocket money and incidental charges. The school fees is to be paid in lumpsum at the time of admission / in the beginning of the year. 2. 3. Tuition fee and other charges are liable for upward revision every year. At present the Tuition fees and other charges are as follows :(a) (b) Tuition fees : Rs. 49,995/- per annum.

Diet charges : Rs. 14,750/- per annum. (50/- X 295 days)

(c) Clothing fees : Rs. 1,500/- per annum for the first year & Rs.750/- per boy per annum for the subsequent years. (d) Pocket Money: Rs.1,500/- per boy per year.

(e) At the time of admission, each candidate is required to remit a sum of Rs.3,000/(Rs.1,500/- for SC / ST candidates) towards caution deposit which will be refunded at the time of leaving the school. (f) Incidental Charges Rs.1,500/- per year.

(g) Personal Clothing : Rs. 5,600/- for personal clothing in the year of admission and as per the requirement of the boy for the subsequent years. However, actual expenditure will be charged. (h) Text Books & Note Books Rs. 750/- approx.

Note. Tuition Fee and Diet Charges will be increased by 10% every year. The rates may, however, change as per decision of Sainik Schools Society, New Delhi. 4. The school fees is required to be paid in FULL at the time of admission and the scholarship amount if any will be adjusted only on receipt of the same from Government of Andhra Pradesh i.e., at the end of the year. 5. In case of any increase of School Fee and other charges by the Board of Governors, Sainik Schools Society, parents will be required to pay the increased amount on intimation by due date. Payment of School Fee on or after Admisson 6. All payments are to be made through the crossed demand draft only, drawn in favour of Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, payable at SBI, Sainik School, Korukonda Branch (Code No.2791). Payment of dues to any School Staff Member for remittance to school funds will be entirely at the risk and responsibility of the individual making the payment.

Scholarships 7. The Government of Andhra Pradesh grants Merit Scholarships for 50% of Andhra Pradesh

Domicile boys admitted every year on the basis of order of merit in Entrance Examination, irrespective of the income of Parent / Guardian. 8. The Government of Andhra Pradesh grants Scholarships to the Andhra Pradesh Domicile boys

on the basis of monthly basic pay of the father only (mother, in case of father not alive or guardian, incase of both father and mother not alive). 9. The scholarship scheme of the A.P.Government is as given below :(a) Scholarship of Rs.34,000/- (of which Rs.2,000/- from MoD) plus clothing allowance is given to the merit scholarship holders irrespective of parents income. Merit scholarship will be continued for the subsequent years subject to securing a minimum of 70% marks in aggregate in Annual Examinations. The balance amount of Fees and other charges to be paid by the parents of General, Defence categories and SC & ST categories. (b) The school is adjudged as the best available School by the Social Welfare / Tribal Welfare Department. Scholarships are awarded by the Social Welfare / Tribal Welfare Department to the SC / ST Boys whose Parents income is less than Rs. 18,000/- per annum under the Bright Boys Scheme - Pre-Matric Scholarships. To continue availing Scholarship awarded by Social Welfare / Tribal Welfare Departments during the subsequent years boys should obtain a minimum 60% Marks in aggregate in the Annual Examinations.

In addition to the above Scholarships / Incentive from Ministry of Defence, New Delhi

will be granted for the following :(i) To all the cadets of the School @ Rs.9,674/- as per previous year's rate.

(ii) All the cadets joining NDA as well as Technical Entry Scheme of Defence Service shall be reimbursed the actual tuition fee paid for classes XI and XII. Note Scholarship towards clothing will be Rs.500/- only in subsequent years. (e) For continuation of income based scholarship, boys should obtain 45% in each subject

and 55% marks in aggregate and 40% and 50% in case of SC / ST boys respectively. (f) Free Education on Merit cum Means for AP Domiciled Students. This Scholarship

scheme is to provide free education to poor and meritorious students whose parental income is below Rs. 2000/-. Out of the available money, equal no. of students for every class will be awarded scholarship to provide free education (Tuition Fee, Dietary Charges and Clothing Fee only) subject to release of grant from Govt. of A.P. This scholarship will be granted afresh on year to year basis based on the Merit in Entrance Exam in respect of New Admissions and on the Merit in the annual examinations in respect of all other classes i.e. 7th to 12th every year. Defence Scholarship 10. Ministry of Defence awards limited number of scholarships to the children of Service Personnel

including Ex-servicemen who are studying in Sainik Schools. The selection of Scholars for grant of defence scholarships will be made by the Ministry of Defence from amongst those who have qualified for admission on merit. The Scholarship once awarded to pupil will continue to be awarded to him throughout his stay in the school provided. (a) He obtains a minimum of 55% in aggregate in the Annual Examination every year with not less than 45% in each subject. (b) (c) He is not reported upon adversely regarding discipline. He is otherwise eligible for the continuance of scholarship on the basis of rank or income

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES SEEKING ADMISSION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012

Total Vacancies 1. For the academic year 2011-2012 approximate vacancies for Class - VI are 60 and for Class IX are 20 including all reservations of State / Other States / Union Territories. In case of non-availability of SC / ST candidates, the vacancies will be filled in by General category candidates. Admission in Class VI 2. Only those candidates who have completed 10 years but not crossed 11 years of age as on 01st July of the year of admission are eligible. For admission to Class VI for 2011-2012 session, the candidates should have been born between 02nd July 2000 and 01st July 2001 (both days inclusive). Boys are admitted to Class VI according to the seats available at the beginning of the year. The admission will be made on the basis of an All India Sainik Schools, Entrance Examination. The Examination for the forthcoming academic session will be held on 02nd January 2011 (Sunday). The applications are required to be submitted by 10th December 2010. Only prescribed proforma(serially numbered) at Appendix - A to the prospectus is to be filled in all respects as per the instructions given in the Second page of the Application Form. 3. Application Form (Appendix ''A'') alongwith the following must be completed in all respects and submitted to The Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda by Post only so as to reach before the expiry of the last date, i,e., 10th December, 2010. Filled in applications will not be accepted by hand. Note Application submitted in wrong form i.e., General / Defence candidates applying in application form meant for SC / ST candidates or Vice Versa will summarily be rejected. (a) Similar copies of recent pass port size photographs taken after 01 Oct 2010 are to be affixed on Application Form and Identification Cards. (b) The photograph affixed on the Application Form must be attested by the Principal / Headmaster of the school in which the boy is studying. In case of Private study only for admission into Class - VI, the same must be attested by a Gazetted Officer. (c) Identification Card (Appendix ''B'') with details be properly filled in. The candidates should append his signature on the photographs. Fill the address slips with your latest address clearly written and send alongwith the filled in application form. (d) Attach a Certificate of Proof of Date of Birth obtained from the school in which studying. In case of Private Study attach a xerox copy of Birth Certificate obtained from the Register of Births & Deaths duly attested by a Gazetted Officer. (e) Attach attested xerox copy of Caste Certificate in case of SC / ST candidate obtained from Tehsildhar concerned, failing which application will be rejected. (f) In case of ex-service personnel, a certificate from the District Sainik Welfare Officer is to be attached for their eligibility as ex-service personnel. Serving Defence personnel are required to submit a Service Certificate from their Commanding Officer and Date of Birth Proof from service records. (g) Applications without enclosing proof of Date of Birth and Caste Certificate will be rejected.

7. Only those boys who are within the age limits are eligible to apply. There is no relaxation of age limits to any category. 8. Candidates who have appeared earlier in the Entrance Examination to Class VI / IX are not eligible to appear again for the Entrance Examination for the same Class. 9. Application found in order ONLY will be registered and the Identification Card despatched.

10. Request for change of centre of examination or change in language in which the boy wishes to take the Entrance Exam will not be entertained. 11. Guidelines for Medical Examination of Boys seeking admission into Sainik Schools. Eye Distant vision must be 6/6 for each eye with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 2.5 i.e., (-2.5D) and hypermetropia should not be more than 3.5 i.e., (+3.5D). He should not be colour blind. Surgical correction of Myopia is a permanent rejection. Ear He should be able to hear a forced whisper with each ear from a distance of 610 cms. Presence of wax in the ear is a temporary rejection. Heart There should not be any kind of murmur in the heart. Lungs There should not be any evidence of past or present disease. General There should not be any bodily deformity. He should not have flat foot, knock knees, chest deformity, polydactaly etc. However, Height and Weight are not taken into cognisance as they are variable at this tender age.

The above amount caters for supply of School Prospectus containing Application Form and one set of last year's question papers of Class VI or IX whichever is applicable (excluding Intelligence paper for Class VI) alongwith address slips, Registration fee, postal charges for sending Hall Ticket, Joining Instructions (for Selected Boys) etc. Money Order / IPOs will not be accepted. Few Previous Year's question papers are also available for supply on demand with an additional amount of Rs.25/- each on first come first serve basis. Kindly note that though the model / old question papers and the syllabus are being supplied, modification in the form and contents of the question papers cannot be ruled out. 16.
