1.3. The schools advantages and disadvantages : 1.3.1. The schools disadvantages: Nguyen Hue secondary school is facing with three disadvantages.

The first disavantages is the situation of pupils in this area . Most of them

come from poor family, they dont think about study, they just think how to earn money, so some pupils quitted of school.

The second disavantages is some parents pupils dont concern on their

childrens study.

The third disadvantages is there are lots of pupils lacks of knowledge so to

help them study more better is so difficult. 1.3.2. The schools advantages: Besides the disadvantages, the school has some advantages.

Firstly, the school has modern facilities to help pupils learn more better. Secondly, the teachers who has specialist knowledge and enthusiasim to

teach pupils. They always try their best teach them not only study language but also lifes skill.

Thirdly, the schools has received lots of concerns from the local authority as

well as people. 1.4. Mission and development direction:

Development direction:

To build teacher team who has specialist knowledge and enthusiasim . Every

year, there will be grade chance between teachers.

To build and improve the quality of senior management and teacher . To built material facilities of the school to serve teaching and studying well.

1.5. Stituation of using English of the school: * Generally, the schools teachers have level A of English. Besides, some teachers have level B. There are four English teachers in Nguyen Hue school. All of them have degree of University. They use some simple sentences when teaching. * At the moment, some teachers are planning to learn higher level so that they can teach English in centre language besides their major.

CHAPTER II: THE ACTUAL WORK

In placement period at Nguyen Hue secondary school, I have lots of opportunities to observe and teach pupils .My duties include working as: preparing teaching aids and teaching plan, marking exam papers. 2.1. Teaching English for children of grade 6:

The first week I came to Nguyen Hue secondary school, I observed some pupils classes.I found that every students at Nguyen Hue studies English with 3 period a week. . Every hour is 45 minutes. When teaching, the teachers used pictures and actions to help students understand words more easily. Moreover, the teachers also tried to give some kind of games and English songs to bring more comfortable and exciting environment in the class.

The second week, the supervisor divided two classes of grade 6 for me : 6A and 6B. There are 38 pupils in class 6A and 36 pupils in 6B. I taught these classes with 6 periods on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.I had two days to prepare before teaching. I felt so worry because I didnt know how to prepare lesson plan and how to make pupils didnt distract lesson. Lukily, supervisor showed me how to face with..Before going to class,I prepared lesson plan carefully .For example, I wrote all of steps in teaching with simple senteces. Then, I surfered the internet to get some pictures which are necessary for teaching. Moreover, I made teaching aids by myself to teach better.

Monday was the first day I taught 6A. Some of girls didnt focus on my lesson,they talked and smiled with each other. It made me was so confused, but I used ways that my supervisor told me. First way, I looked at them 10 minutes when teaching. At that time, anothers next to them remind that I was looking. After that, they were afraid and focus on my lesson. The third week, I continue to teach grade 6.

2.1.2. Teaching steps: Teaching grade 6, its not too different between four skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing. Both of them are appearance in parts lesson. When teaching, I used both of steps that compulsory in a lesson. For example, that day I had one lesson: Countries. The second part I had to teach was We are the world

I know they felt and searly, just few minutes, I use some kind of games and English songs to bring more comfortable envoronment in the class.

My group leader watches all teachers and every teacher watches the other teachers 4 hours every month. Next, there is a meeting between English teachers to give assessment on Friday of each week. At the end of the month, steering committee checks teaching plan, records, watching book of all of teachers. These meeting and checking help teachers study many things, exchange and get news, plan of team and school . 2.2. Actual hour:

2.3. The other works: Nguyen Hue often has an important meetings on Saturdays at the end of the month. All teachers and staffs must attend this meeting to get information and know the plan in the next month.I take part in 4 meetings during my placement period. In addition, I also participate many different activities .For example: Sport festival, letters competition. Thanks to these activities, I met and contacted with most of teachers of the school. Moreover, I felt very close to my children. All becomes beautiful memories in my mind.

CHAPTER III : COMMENT ON THE ACTUAL WORK

3.1. The disadvantages of teaching: Teaching experiences: I have never taught English in front of lots of pupils, especially grade 6. I needed some time to feel comfortable with my new environment and on my work that I never did it before and I also didnt have any experiences. I didnt know how to prepare lesson plan, how to teach ,how to control class and how to make pupils relax.. I was very worried about that.

Furthermore, I also lacked of experiences and communicate both of skill with pupils was still weak, it was not easy for me to completely convince students pay attention to my lesson the way lively and interesting, I also could not find the best teaching method in order to prepare and help them understand my lesson in the first time.

Teaching aids:

Although the school has a big library with many reference books, teaching

aids ,but there werent enough cassette players for me to teach. In addition, I did not have pictures and teaching aids enough to teach . I had to make teaching aids and drew pictures by myself. I spent much time for these things .

Moreover, I taught English with no cassette player, one way I can do that

reading loudly front of class to make pupils hear me clearly Teaching time: Time was limited so I had to face to some difficulties when I divided time to teach: each period is only 45 minutes but the lessons were quite long ,it was not enough time to teach within 45 minutes. Then nearly half students in class, they felt tired and uncomfortable because before the English class began these students might finish their main class from 3 to 4 periods, thats reason reduced attentive ability of students. Pupils: The major of these students was not English; English was a compulsory subject to them so they felt bored or not interested in studying English. Here I only have few pupils brilliant at English in a class. But my class is a mixture of pupils both good and bad at English. So it is very difficult to find out a way of teaching suitable for both of them.I gave more challenging tasks for good pupils and easier tasks for bad pupils. For example:Sometimes, good pupils have to use the grammar learnt to set up a new sentence and then bad pupils have only to repeat that sentence and after that the bad have to create a new sentence with one change...... For good pupils we usually have higher and higher requirements day by day. But for bad pupils, we usualy praise them and encourage them. Pronunciation: Teaching pronunciation to pupils is very important. Teacher should pronounces and corrects their mistake well. I taught English at Nguyen Hue, some of pupils are afraid of learning English, espcially learning pronunciation .When I taught

them pronunciation, some of them was afraid of. They dont repeat new words after me, or they just repeat too small so its so difficult for me to listen and correct their pronunciation. 3.2. The advantages of teaching: Knowledge: Teachers teach English at secondary level, especially teaching at grade 6 do not need as much as knowledge as teachers at high school or college, university. An english teacher just use body language or pictures and simple sentences to make pupils understand .Therefore, I did not have difficult problems about grammar or words. Teaching plan: Teaching plan for children of grade 6 has 3 steps: warm up, presentation and consolidation . At the same time , my supervisor Mr Huu The help me so much.He gives me necessary instruction . There fore, it wasnt to difficult for me to prepare lesson plan. Teaching aids: School gives me many teaching aids as cassette player, pictures, cassettes. Moreover, my supervisor also borrowed reference book to help me to teach better, besides that he has also encouraged me spiritually to help me become more confident.

Pupils: As you know, children are very intelligent, lovely and and all of them listen to teachers. And when I taught grade 6 at Nguyen Hue secondary, I found that

some of them learn very well and they wasnt afraid to contact to new teachers. Therefore, it wasnt too hard for me to talk and make their acquaintance.

CHAPTER IV: EXPERIENCE

After placement period at Nguyen Hue secondary, I have gained lots of experiences that are very necessary in my future job. I have learned experiences from my supervisor such as: the guiding role of the teacher in class, the methods used in teaching English and how to teach English effectively. Morever, I have also learned about valuable lesson to become a perfect in the life. 4.1. Teaching experiences: During my placement period, I have learned that a lot of useful things to myself through my senior supervisors and the members in my group helped me. 4.2. Living experiences: After 2months at Nguyen Hue school, I have learnt some living experiences.

At the same time, it was the first experience I had that taught me to listen to

people with ideas and opinions that I had never before considered and help me to develop new ways of thinking about the same problems.

You need to be active and self confident on your knowledge so that you can

apply it to complete your tasks best. It is important to have union between colleagues in any work environment.

English is very important to work, communicate, solve problem Besides,

you need to use English naturally.

You have to work and leave on time which makes a good impression to your

college.

When meeting anyone, you should greet with smile on your lips The appearance is very important, it makes people that you are organized and

reliable.

You should be enthusiastic to join every activities of team, school. Dont be afraid to ask questions from colleagues. Its better to ask for help

than to do a job wrong.

Dont be involved in shool office because it makes people cant trust you. Stay

out of school politics and avoid criticising director or colleagues to other people.

If your colleagues complain anything about you, it is important to keep calm

and solve trouble at its best.
