BROWNS HOST STEELERS ON NBC’S SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON SEPT. 14


Pregame tribute to the late Ernie Davis to include Hall of Fame running backs Jim Brown and Bobby Mitchell;
Also stars from the film ‘The Express’ – Dennis Quaid, Rob Brown, Omar Benson Miller and Charles Dutton;
AT&T to provide Browns Spirit Swirler for all fans in attendance

The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet in front of a national audience this Sunday, Sept. 14
at 8:15 p.m. at Cleveland Browns Stadium on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Fans will be treated to a special
pregame ceremony honoring the late Ernie Davis, as fans are encouraged to be in their seats early. In addition,
the contest is sponsored by AT&T and all fans in attendance will receive a Browns Spirit Swirler.

The pregame ceremony will feature a video tribute to the late Browns running back Ernie Davis and trailer from
the new film, ‘The Express’, which highlights the life and impact of the former Browns running back who died
from leukemia in 1963. There will be a Davis jersey presentation featuring his former teammates, including
Jim Brown, Ross Fichtner, Bob Gain, Jim Houston and Dick Schafrath. In attendance and also serving as
honorary coin toss captains will be Browns Hall of Fame running backs Jim Brown and Bobby Mitchell, as
well as the stars from ‘The Express’, including Dennis Quaid, Rob Brown, Omar Benson Miller and Charles
Dutton.

Also during pregame, Browns Hall of Fame running back Bobby Mitchell will receive the Courage Award in
Memory of Ernie Davis, an award given annually by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Mitchell is
being recognized for his nearly two decades of support for The Society.

Presenting the color guard will be all five branches of the United States Armed Forces and the National
Anthem will be performed by Grammy-nominated recording artist Brian McNight. Also at halftime, the
Shaker Heights Youth Football team will scrimmage.

The Browns will also pay tribute to local area firefighters, with the ‘Hats Off to Our Heroes’ Honor Row game
day feature at the end of the first quarter. The Browns created the ‘Hats Off to Our Heroes’ community
relations program to honor those representatives who epitomize the core of our community and have positively
impacted our neighborhoods.

Additionally, several players will be hosting special guests at each home game throughout the year. Defensive
lineman Shaun Smith works with local students through his “Lining Up with Shaun Smith” program,
linebacker Antwan Peek assists several non-profit groups, who are part of his “Peek’s Pound”, safety Brodney
Pool also provides support to local students through his “Pool’s Posse” program, safety Mike Adams and his
“Mike Adams Rising Stars” program works with the ‘I am NOT a Hero Foundation’, and kicker Phil Dawson,
along with his wife Shannon, have partnered with Adoption Network to provide families the opportunity to
attend games this year.

The Browns will have many special guests coming as nearly 65 alumni will enjoy the game and nearly 25
Browns Backers Groups, including visits from the 11 different states. The Browns welcome the Ann Arbor
(Mich.), Baltimore (Md.), Bay Area (San Jose, Calif.), Bradenton (Fla.), Capital District (Albany, N.Y.),
Delaware Valley (Newark, Del.), Derby City (Louisville, Ky.), Photo City (Rochester, N.Y.), Pittsburgh (Pa.),
Southeastern North Carolina (Wilmington, N.C.) and the Virginia Peninsula (Hampton, Va.) Browns Backers to
name a few.

The game kicks off at 8:15 p.m., however gates will open at 6:15 p.m. with inflatables, interactives and live
music along the Tailgate Terrace, located on the East Patio. The Grille, located along Alfred Lerner Way,
offers an assortment of food and beverages and will open at 6:15 p.m. In addition, BrownsTown, located on
the North side of the Stadium, is the official tailgate spot for ticketed patrons and offers food and a DJ and will
open at a special time 4:00 p.m. for fans to view the earlier NFL games.

Legends, a sports bar located behind the Dawg Pound, features two full bars, novelty shops, a full kitchen and
37 flat screen televisions. Legends can be accessed from the Stadium’s east ramps, stairs or elevator, and will
be open beginning at 6:15 p.m.
