When you dont know what a word


means, sometimes breaking it apart

Lots of words have the same beginning.
We call these prefixes.
If you know what they mean, you can
work out what new words are
talking about!

The best way to improve


your vocabulary is to
read as much as you can.
Another good way is to
use a picture dictionary,
then test yourself and
your friends.

On the next few pages are picture dictionaries for different topics.
Look at the pictures and try to remember the vocabulary for each
one. Then cover the answers and try and test yourself.
Writing the words makes it a lot easier to remember them.
Tell your friend to cover their answers and ask them different
numbers.
