Daily Fix It with Inspector Fix It

for use with Scott Foresman Reading Street Series Grade K however, it can be used for anyone who does a daily sentence x

The Daily Fix It has not always been one of my favorite activities to do with the kids. Ive tried it in Journal writing, Ive tried it in calendar time, Ive tried it for morning work and its not something Ive always stuck with. I received some inspiration when blog stalking and I ran across the video provided by Teacher Tipster. So, I am going to try this again. If you use the SF Reading Street Series, these sentences are taken directly from the Daily Fix It sentences that they provide. SF also give you this as a print out for your overhead, but who has time to drag out their overhead on a quick, daily basis. All I have done is condensed the sentences into 6 pages. You can go straight to this handout instead of hauling out your big Teacher Edition or thumbing through all of the pages on pearsonsuccessnet.com. It will save you the hassle..trust me! This year I plan on incorporating this during calendar time again. I think with the jazzy little song and getting the kids a little more involved, it will run much smoother! I have a small white board that sits by my calendar and I plan to use it to write my sentence on each day. I can also tape a page protector or gallon ziplock bag to the back of it and keep this print out inside it. Woohoo! In this handout you will also nd the Inspector from the Pink Panther in larger form, I believe his name is Inspector Clouseau. Print him out on card stock and laminate him. There is also a magnifying glass. You can also print it out on card stock, cut out the middle of it (where the glass is) and then laminate it. Then you can look at the sentence through the hole in the middle! Genius, right?! =) Even if you do not use the SF series, these sentences are still great to use.
