CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle: Literary Walk Saturday 16 July 2011, 12noon Start at Maudsley Hospital, end at Tate Modern

Following in the footsteps of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, explore writers past and present, known and unknown - join CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle on 16th July in an exciting literary walk with storytelling, celebrating literature, spoken word and poetry. Explore the psychogeography of Southwark and found out more about inspiring writers that have connections with the borough. Be part of this experimental performance piece where literature comes to life and we share our personal storytelling. The talks and readings from the walk will be recorded for a sound art project, a collaboration with South London Gallery and artist Isa Suarez. We are looking for Southwark based writers/ performers to contribute their stories ; Spoken Word, Poetry, Rap, Short Stories; writers who have work about Southwark/set in Southwark; writers exploring mental health issues through their work. Come along and add to the discussion and exploration, share your thoughts and ideas, enjoy the company of others and have fun. The walk starts at 12noon at the Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ, and ends at Tate Modern; the walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. Call CoolTan Arts on 07985658443 if you cannot find the group of walkers on the day. The walk is free but voluntary donations will be appreciated. Please wear comfortable shoes, suitable clothes and bring a bottle of water. The walk is accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities. Everyone is welcome!
