1. PURPOSE :The purpose of this procedure is to impart the guidelines for the activities involved in the construction of DM plant building. 2. SCOPE :The procedure covers the method for the Construction of columns , Beams, slabs Brick Masonry & Plastering of the internal and external surfaces.

3. REFERENCE :Drawings issued for execution and any technical specifications 4. METHODOLOGY :4.1 Concreting for columns, beams and slab 4.1.1 The placement of reinforcement and the form work for the columns will be done as per requirements. 4.1.2 The concreting for the columns will be done manually and compacted with needle vibrator as required. 4.1.3 4.1.4 The stripping time of form work for the columns is 24 hours. Immediately after the stripping of columns, the columns will be cured properly for 7 days. 4.1.5 Beams and slab will be concreted manually (Monolithic construction) and cured properly. 4.2 Brick Masonry : 4.2.1 The brick masonry will be done with cement mortar of 1:5 in two stages up to lintel level and after casting of lintel, up to slab level.

The bricks will be kept moist at least for 1 hour before using in the construction All the brick work shall be plumb and vertical joints in alternate courses shall be in one line. Horizontal courses shall be levelled. The thickness of brick Courses shall be kept uniform

In no case the level difference between adjoining wall shall exceed one meter. Brick-work shall not be raised more than one metre per day.

Curing will be done for 7 days for brick masonry.

4.3 Concreting of Lintel beam 4.3.1 Reinforcement and Form work will be done as per requirements and concrete will be done manually and cured properly and the second stage of brick work will be commenced. 4.4 Plastering of Brick work. 4.4.1 Plastering of brick work with cement mortar (1:5) will be commenced immediately after completion of entire brick work to facilitate proper curing of brick masonry. Proper thickness of plastering work will be ensured by periodic checking of thickness with scale or by any suitable manner. Plastered surface will also be cured properly for at least for 7 days. 5 SAFETY 5.1 To comply with the safety requirements towards Safety following steps shall be taken as a minimum for the implementation of this procedure. Mason and Labour shall wear the helmets, safety shoes supplied by the client.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & QUALITY CONTROL : 6.1 Quality control measures will be followed as applicable.
