5. Scientific Mining Items A. Exploration (Rule 13) a.Type of prospecting : As per approved scheme of mining and exploration i.e. on 03/10/2008, no pitting, drilling drilling is proposed to carry out. b.Total area covered : As per approved scheme of mining on 03/10/2008, no drilling is proposed to carry out. No additional drilling carried out during this period. Proposal Actual work done Remarks

Hence no area has been taken up for exploratory works.

B. Working (Rule 13) a.Number and size of : Mining is proposed during 08-09 & 09each pit (LxWxH) 10 in gagal block from 867to 780mrl by developing benches each of 10m height with face length of 300m and maintain width of the benches more than the height. Mining is carried out in gagal block from 867mrl to 767mrl by developing 10 benches each of 10m height by maintaining face length and width as per proposal. Top two benches are in OB i.e. in shale on the HW side and four upper benches are developed for dolomite and grey lime stone and bottom four benches are developed in lime stone. The size of pit was about 850M x 700m x 100m. The mine is worked by open cast mechanised means with bench slicing method. In all 10 benches each of 10m height with 20 m width have been developed in Gagal block. The benches are advanced in NW to SE directions. Top two benches are developed in OB and then four benches are developed for dolomite and grey limestone and bottom four benches are developed in lime stone. There is no handling or disposal of waste as no waste material is generated during the course of mining operations. The entire material is consumed to there cement plant

: It is proposed to b.Bench size(LxWxH)length can develop 10 m ht and 20m width by be defined as gradual slicing regular/irregular off from the top. It has been proposed to develop benches mostly in E-W direction except in the eastern part.

c.Ore to waste ratio pit wise if possible otherwise for mine

: There is hardly any generation of waste material, therefore no proposals have been made.

located with in the vicinity of mine. However the high mg limestone generated at the initial stages of mining or during mining presently is also used for blending limestone at the rate of 10% along with shale. d.Total area covered : It has been under excavation/pits proposed to bring about 54 hectares area under excavation / pits by the end of first year of scheme of mining i.e.2008-09. C. Waste disposal (Rule 13) a.Location of dumps : No waste has been proposed to be generated during the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simultenously used by blending. : No waste has been proposed to be generated during the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simultenously used by blending. No waste has been generated during the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simultneously used by blending. Old waste dump covering area of about 10 hectares is lying in the NE part of the ML area. No waste has been generated during the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simulteniously used by blending. Old waste dump covering area of about 10 hectares is lying in the NE part of the ML area which was dumped by advancing method. No waste has been generated during the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simultenously used by blending. Old waste dump covering area of about 10 hectartes is lying in the NE part of the ML area. No waste has been generated during the year 2008-09 7 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simultenously used by blending. Single old waste dump covering It is observed that as on date of inspection about appx. 60 hectares of area has been brought under active excavation. Out of this nearly 2 hectares of area has been reclaimed so far.

b.Method of dumping whether advancing/retreat

c.Total area covered under waste dump.

: No waste has been proposed to be generated during the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being simulteneously used by blending.

d.No.and size of each : No waste has been waste dump with No of proposed to be generated during steps/lift/bench the year 2008-09 & 09-10 as high magnesia limestone is being

6. Conservation of Mineral - both quantitative and qualitative Beneficiation (Rule 20 and 26) Efforts for improving low grade and sub grade mineral. : No waste is generated during 2008-09 & 09-10 as entire ROM produced from the mine is utilised in cement making. The dolomite and high magnessia limestone is generated as sub grade is used for cement manufacturing by blending with high grade limestone. : Entire quantity of ROM is utilised for cement manufacturing in their own plant.

Efforts for improving percentage of recovery of ore. Minearl Rule 15 Number of benches in ore and waste.

: Top two benches in OB and below eight benches in mineral limestone each of 10 m height and 20 m width have been formed.

Percentage of recovery of ore : Entire ROM produced from the mine is utilised in preparation of Raw-mix for cement making. pitwise w.r.t. ROM and total material Sub/grd mineral/fines (Rule16) Separate stacking from waste Location of stacking. Total area covered for stacking : Not applicable, since no waste is generated during the mining operations presently. : High magnesium limestone generated earlier has been stacked in the NE part of the ML area. : High magnesium limestone generated earlier has been stacked covering an area of appx. 10 hectares.

Number and size of each stack : There is only one stack of high magnesium limestone generated earlier which is spread over an area of appx. 10 hectares. Qty of yearly generation and total qty available during inspection with grade : No waste is generated during 2008-09 & 09-10 as entire ROM produed from the mine is utilised in cement making. The dolomite and high magnesia limestone is generated as sub grade is used for cement manufacturing by blending with high grade lime stone.
