General Information :
Don't forget to precise which burner is in use if you have several. In anycase, precise the design date.
In "Comments" you can explain when the measurement was done (start of kiln or other specific conditions, change of burner…
Geometry :
The geometry should not be only from the plan but from measurements done before the start of the burner.
To help you to check the value, use the drawing at the end of the sheet.
Base Data :
AS=Air Separate precalciner
AT = Air Through precalciner / systems with secondary burner on pre-heater / grate (Lepol)
SP = No precalciner / Wet process / Long dry – Systems with all fuel on main burner
Add the average Heat Consumption in th/Tonne Clinker known for the kiln
Correct the quantity of fuel at the burner or the percentage at back if the cells turn into red
For the heat consumption fuel : Take care to put as first fuel, the one which is going out through the “transport circuit” :
these data will be used to calculated the “coal concentration”
Aeraulic Measurement
A value of 100°C is added to the measured temperature of the axial circuit in order to replicate the conditions in the burn
(e.g. Value Entered = 100°C + Value Measured.N.B.)
Axial Circuit
A tip speed greater than 300 m/s could cause erosion or tip build-up and can cause very high back pressures.
A tip speed of between 250-300 m/s may perform adequately.
A tip speed of less than 250 m/s is recommended.
Barrel speeds of less than 20m/s may result in cooling problems.
Barrel speeds of greater than 35m/s can be costly in terms of power consumption.
Transport Circuit
A tip speed 25-36 m/s is recommended.
The speed within the barrel should be regulated to avoid fuel deposit and erosion 25-35 m/s.
Swirl Circuit
A barrel speed of less than 20m/s may result in a cooling problem
Barrel speeds higher than 35m/s will effect adversely power consumption.
