D. COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course covers real number systems, algebraic expressions and operations, special products and factoring, relations and functions, solution sets of algebraic equations in one variable: linear, quadratic, polynomial of degree n, fractional, radical equations (quadratic in form), exponential and logarithmic equations; solution sets of systems of linear equations up to three variables; and decomposition of partial fractions. E. PRE-REQUISITE : None F. COURSE OBJECTIVES 1] General 1.1] Cognitive 1.1.1] identify the properties of real numbers 1.1.2] understand the simplest ways/techniques of algebraic operation through special products 1.1.3] determine the different laws governing the operations on fractions 1.1.4] understand the operation and composition of functions 1.1.5] know the different cases of partial fractions 1.1.6] understand the concept of inequality 1.1.7] develop positive attitude towards mathematics. : : At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
