SOFTWARE PIRACY
When you buy a piece of software, it doesnt really belong to you. Instead, you have purchased a license which gives you the right to install and use the software on computers that you own. Distributing and/or reproducing Final Draft software applications or fonts for business or personal use is software piracy and is illegal and punishable by law. Please be aware that when you open the software package and install the program you are actively agreeing with the terms and conditions set forth in the End User License Agreement. We urge you to read it and become familiar with its provisions. Piracy comes in many forms. Here are some common piracy methods: Licensed user duplication for unlicensed users; Illegal Internet distribution; Distributing specialized academic versions to unauthorized markets. When someone copies software without buying the appropriate number of licenses, it is copyright infringement. Each of these activities is a form of software piracy: An individual copying software for a friend; A business underreporting the number of computers using the software. Illegal Internet distribution Be cautious when ordering software over the Internet. Many resellers with Internet storefronts or those who sell from auction sites knowingly distribute copies of software illegally. Estimates reveal that as much as 90% of software sold over Internet auction sites is either bootlegged or gray market. So if the pricing seems too good to be true, it probably is. To buy knowing that you'll receive the protection and full functionality of legal software, we recommend that you purchase from either the Final Draft Online Store or from a Final Draft Authorized Reseller. Distributing specialized academic versions to unauthorized markets Final Draft creates special versions of its software to meet the needs of the academic market. These versions are clearly labeled to avoid confusion with other market segments. Duplication of these specialized versions for distribution to other markets is prohibited. To find out who qualifies for academic pricing, visit the Final Draft Academic Center.
