Electric Cars
Popularizing Electric Cars:In order to popularize electric cars in India, government has to take a lot of initiatives. There were several problems related to electric cars. Some of them arei) High Cost of Cars ii) Charging problem of Batteries iii) Very less Distribution network iv) Very less Maintenance centres. Some other problems are like lack of co-ordination between state government and central government. First of all government has to take some measures to solve these problems. Government has to give some more subsidy and should motivate people for the distribution of electric cars. Battery power does not lasts very long. Hence, charging of battery is another problem which makes the vehicle, usable only for short distances. To solve this problem government has to take some innovative measures like opening of charging stations or pay and charge like concepts at petrol filling station because petrol filling stations are almost at every place. Companies should launch new and attractive models of electric cars in order to attract more and more customers.

Segmentation:Market will be segmented on the basis ofi) Income ii) Age We will target middle class (income) people because they want vehicles which gives them high mileage and which have low maintenance cost. It is also pollution free and use low cost fuel. So, it will attract younger people. But our target will be middle aged and young aged people (teenagers). As electric cars have following advantages therefore people will surely get attracted towards them: 1) Electricity is readily available. 2) Since there is no IC engine, the vehicle runs noiselessly, in fact many times you wont even know that some vehicle has just passed beside you. 3) There are no emissions from EVs, hence they are environmental friendly. 4) Manufacturing the EV is very easy; you have to merely assemble various components of the vehicle. This is especially true for small motorcycles or mopeds.

1) Print Media 2) Television Media 3) Electronic Media For communicating the concept of EVs we will use all three type of media and give advertisements in the News papers, Television. By internet we can promote EVs through social networking sites like Facebook and Orkut. All the information regarding the EVs will be provided to the public at different places like service centers and showrooms. We can also promote it by using aggressive advertising campaign and endorsement will be done through some known personalities like actors, sportsperson etc.
