Role Overview: The Business Development Manager will be required to design and sell bespoke marketing and communications campaigns to a wide variety of clients within the construction, commercial property and architecture communities. Campaigns will be delivered across any combination of print, digital and events channels and need to demonstrate clear return on investment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, commercial acumen, and a proven track record of selling profitable multiplatform solutions Key Responsibilities: Develop business relationships and generate client solutions deals for UBM within all Built Environment vertical sectors and to agreed revenue and profitability targets. Business relationships and deals should be sought directly with clients or where necessary with their advertising, PR or creative agencies Build enduring relationships with clients with strong emphasis on repeat business Represent the client solutions team in face to face meetings, telephone calls and written communication Create and be accountable for client proposals, contracts and any other documentation or assets, such as mock-ups, according to standards set by the Group Client Solutions Director Be able to look beyond existing platforms where necessary in order respond effectively to a clients brief Work closely with project management team to ensure exceptional delivery Ensure an ongoing, detailed understanding of the key markets relevant to client base Ensure a thorough understanding of clients objectives including their return on investment (ROI) objectives. Identify and assess viability of emerging channels that could be monetised as part of a client solutions or support campaign Lead generation and appointment setting in line with targets set by Head of Client Solutions

Ensure post campaign reporting is achieved on time and according to agreed templates Worldwide travel as necessary to achieve core objectives Bi-monthly blog on Wiki updating wider UBM community on key developments and new learning. Be an ambassador for client solutions across UBM worldwide

Minimum Skills & Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years experience selling face to face and a minimum of 1 year selling multi-platform solutions to clients and advertising agencies Consultative selling expertise to board level clients Proven track record in negotiating solutions campaigns at 30k+ level with strong gross profit margin Extensive network of client and advertising agency contacts Ability to build and nurture strong relationships internally and externally Thorough understanding of selling, delivering and measuring success of print and digital solutions Detailed knowledge of media landscape and sales channels. Exceptional presentation skills in a face to face environment Working experience of effective project management of solutions campaigns. Thorough understanding of campaign measurement tools including panel based surveys, CTRs, unique users, CTRs, CPA. Ability to self-manage. Good understanding of P+L management. Ability to effectively plan and manage complex work flow
