Cost-effective yet convenient

Differential pressure and ow regulators are the ideal control equipment for regulating ow as well as for maintaining the best possible operating conditions. Particularly in large pipe networks with variable ow rates and speedcontrolled pumps, SAMSON control equipment guarantees high customer satisfaction and ensures low operating costs thanks to: Optimal efciency of heat/chilled water generation, Low energy loss during heat/chilled water transport, Reduced power consumption of the pumps, Longer service life of the control equipment. As the SAMSON differential pressure and ow regulators pay off within just a few years, they represent an investment worth making.

Air conditioning JFK Airport ExCeL center

JFK Airport ExCeL center

In large buildings, for example at JFK Airport in New York or the ExCeL center in London, over 300 SAMSON differential pressure regulators in various versions grant the temperature control valves high valve authority, thus ensuring efcient and stable control. This means that the temperature is kept at the set point even under the most adverse operating conditions. Thanks to hydraulic balancing over differential pressure regulators, the plant can be expanded without great difculty. The control stability and the distribution of the heating or cooling media in the existing sections of a plant remain entirely unaffected by expansions or changes of the operating parameters. A fact that will put plant operators at ease.

District Tokyo cooling DisneySea

DisneySea Tokyo
SAMSON ensures that Mickey Mouse wont break a sweat. One of the latest Disney theme parks, DisneySea in Tokyo, relies on forty Type 42-24 Differential Pressure Regulators with ange connections as well as Type 42-37 Flow and Differential Pressure Regulators for its district cooling network. These regulators allow all facilities to be cooled evenly, right from the early hours when the rst visitors start to arrive. During times of peak demand, the capacity of the system is adapted in accordance with the network design. While doing so, valve authority of the temperature regulators is maintained. As a result, the regulators can do their best job under all conditions.

District heating Warsaw

Warsaw
Even large cities in Eastern Europe like Warsaw rely on SAMSON. In the district heating network of the Polish capital, thousands of the combined ow and differential pressure regulators of the Type 47-1 with threaded ends or Type 42-39 with anges are used. Under full load, the regulators restrict the ow rate at the consumers. Off peak, they maintain a constant differential pressure at the temperature control valves. Whistling plants with uctuating temperatures are a thing of the past. The capacity of the network is distributed in the best possible way. As a result, the regulators make life much easier for both district heating customers and network operators.

District heating Dresden

Dresden
Dresden, guring among the cultural capitals of Europe, uses the most compact control valve available from the broad SAMSON product range: the Type 2488. This regulator combines an electric control valve with optional fail-safe action, a ow regulator, and a differential pressure regulator all into one device. The integrated differential pressure regulator provides the temperature control valve with a valve authority of almost 1, which ensures an excellent control response. Thanks to the possibility of attaching the regulator indirectly to the district heating network, there is no need to install any further regulators or control valves in the network.

District heating Dutch greenhouses

Dutch greenhouses
Plants need heat, too. The Netherlands as one of the largest vegetable and ower growers in Europe also puts its plantations in the hands of SAMSON technology. Type 42-36E combined regulators with anges are installed in the greenhouses, which are kept warm by district heating. The Type 42-36E handles all plant parameters such as temperature, ow rate, and differential pressure. As a result, there is no need to install further control valves. A major advantage for cost-effective cultivation.

Heat transfer oil is used as an energy carrier in many elds. Thanks to its low steam pressure even at high temperatures, plants can be implemented with low pressure ratings. As a result, the investment compared to steam networks is relatively small. However, it must be ensured that the heat transfer oil circulates permanently. Otherwise, the plant is exposed to overheating and cracking, which can have severe consequences. A SAMSON Type 42-25 Differential Pressure Regulator installed in the bypass line of the heating circuit makes sure that the required minimum ow rate is achieved and that the heat transfer oil does not overheat. Thus, your plant will operate reliably at the optimum temperature.

Process engineering M+W Zander

M+W Zander
Manufacturing products that meet the highest quality standards calls for production plants whose components comply with the most stringent requirements as well. At M+W Zander, Type 45-2 Differential Pressure Regulators with threaded ends are integrated into plants designed for the conditioning of pure air in chip production. To guarantee the best possible operating conditions for temperature control valves used in cooling, the differential pressure across the temperature control valve must be regulated. An easy task for the Type 45-2.

Automotive industry
The welding guns of robots, used for example at VW, are cooled with the help of almost 500 SAMSON ow and differential pressure regulators. This cooling is necessary to prevent the guns from overheating due to the high duty cycles of the welding robots. The ow of the cooling medium is controlled over solenoid valves that can close only against low differential pressures. SAMSON Type 46-7 Flow and Differential Pressure Regulators make sure that no excessive differential pressures occur and that each welding gun is assigned the proper amount of cooling medium. Of course, the SAMSON regulators are entirely free of substances that are not compatible with paint as is usual in the automotive industry.
