INTRODUCTION
The CDM-570/570L Base Modem Release 1.7.4 addresses two bugs. No new features are added.

Note: For customers who are not operating a ViperSat network or have not purchased the Wan Adaptation optional hardware board. It is recommended that you use version 1.6.11.
IMPORTANT

It is NOT recommended that any customers currently operating with version 1.6.10 or older upgrade to this firmware UNLESS they are ordering a WAd option card and doing a field upgrade/install. To re-flash modem with 1.7.4 correctly, the modem must be running firmware 1.4.4 or above. Note that since all 1.7.x firmware supports the new optional Wan Adaptation board the file size has doubled from 2 Mbytes to 4 Mbytes. In order to upgrade modem from via the optional IP Module the base modem version must be 1.6.9 or later and the IP Module must be version 1.6.2 or later. If neither of these is true the base modem firmware must be upgraded using the base modem Ethernet Management interface rather than the IP Module interface. Please consult with customer support if you have additional questions.

Defect Fixes
1. Fixed issue were detection of the G.703 interface driver device is not installed on the modem board. 2. Fixed bug that would not allow selection of Uncoded operation. This bug was introduces in version 1.7.0. 3. Fixed four issues with the Packet Binary commands used in ViperSat operation. These included: a. Incorrect reporting of Rx Signal Level in the Demod Status Message. b. Incorrect reporting of Buffer Fill State in the Demod Status Message. c. Incorrect reporting of Unit Online Status in the Unit Status Message if redundancy is not enabled. d. Resolved issue of unit data rate being driven to 1.544 Mbps if the data interface is changed from IP to either RS422 or V.35.
