The Indian packaging industry is currently $ 18.8 billion with a growth rate of above 15% per annum. Growth rate is expected to be doubled with in coming two years. India's per capita packaging consumption is less than world wide average which offers mammoth business opportunity to Indian Packaging Industry. The large and fast growing Indian middle class population and the growth of organized retail sector are the catalysts to growth in packaging.The Indian middle class population is above 50 million and is expected to reach 583 million by 2025. Strong International turnout, high proportion of decision-makers among visitors
INDIAPACK 2008, the International packaging exhibition held from 18-21 September 2008 at Mumbai, created a global platform for the packaging industry to interact with visitors from India and all across the world. The exhibition included machinery manufacturers, material manufacturers, suppliers & providers of equipments, technology and other innovative concepts. High level Trade Visitors along with International Visitors, from 37 Countries came to the event to find out about product range offered by 156 companies from 20 countries with a gross area of around 8000sq. mts., with a wide range of innovative products, technologies and services on display.
