2. METHOD SUMMARY. Work process overview as shown below describes the overall process covers the work which follows the procedure of testing the antenna system. When the exit criteria for each procedure are fulfilled, the tester enters the results in the test record, and returns to the work process for the next step. The work order can be altered, or tests can be removed due to local circumstances, but if this is the case, an investigation of the consequences must be carried out. If the work order is changed or tests are removed, then the department responsible for this manual must be notified and agree to changes, or the responsibility is automatically transferred to the person making the decision.
3. DEFINITIONS. For information about the acronyms and abbreviations used, see Glossary. 4. HEALTH AND SAFETY WARNINGS. 4.1. Personal Protective Equipment y y y y y Suitable clothing must be worn; long pants, at least short-sleeved shirts and adequate foot wear. Hard hats, safety glasses or goggles must be used when a potential hazard exists. (Safety glasses must be ANSI Z87 or Z87.1 approved). Hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs) must be used in high noise areas. Gloves (as needed). Safety Boot for (ground workers)
4.2. Housekeeping y y y y y y y Always store materials in a safe manner. Tie down or support materials if necessary to prevent falling, rolling, or shifting. Shavings, dust scraps, oil or grease should not be allowed to accumulate. Good housekeeping is a part of the job. Trash piles must be removed as soon as possible. Trash is a safety and fire hazard. Immediately remove all loose materials from stairs, walkways, ramps, platforms, etc. Do not block aisles, traffic lanes, fire exits, gangways, or stairs. Avoid shortcuts use ramps, stairs, walkways, ladders, etc. Do not remove, deface or destroy any warning, danger sign, or barricade, or interfere with any form of accident prevention device or practice provided for your use or that is being used by other workers. Get help with heavy or bulky materials to avoid injury to yourself or damage to material. Do not use tools with split, broken, or loose handles, or burred or mushroomed heads. Keep cutting tools sharp and carry all tools in a container. Know the correct use of hand and power tools. Use the right tool for the job.

4.3. Fall Protection y Fall hazards of 10 feet or more will be outlined and addressed in our jobsite fall protection work plan. Fall hazards of less than 10 feet will be protected by covers, guardrails or other methods and will be addressed in our self-inspections and safety meetings. Standard guardrails must be erected around all floor openings and open-sided surfaces. Contact your supervisor for the correct specifications.
4.5. Ladder Safety y y y y Inspect before use for physical defects. Ladders are not to be painted except for numbering purposes. Do not use ladders for skids, braces, workbenches, or any purpose other than climbing. When you are ascending or descending a ladder, do not carry objects that will prevent you from grasping the ladder with both hands. Always face the ladder when ascending and descending. If you must place a ladder over a doorway, barricade the door to prevent its use and post a warning sign. Only one person is allowed on a ladder at a time. Do not jump from a ladder when descending. All joints between steps, rungs, and side rails must be tight. Safety feet must be in good working order and in place. Rungs must be free of grease and/or oil.

4.6. Stepladders y y y y Do not place tools or materials on the steps or platform of a stepladder Do not use the top two steps of a stepladder as a step or stand. Always level all four feet and lock spreaders in place. Do not use a stepladder as a straight ladder.
After raising the extension portion of a two or more stage ladder to the desired height, check to ensure that the safety dogs or latches are engaged. All extension or straight ladders must be secured or tied off at the top. All ladders must be equipped with safety (non-skid) feet. Portable ladders must be used at such a pitch that the horizontal distance from the top support to the foot of the ladder is about one-quarter of the working length of the ladder.

5. PERSONAL QUALIFICATION / RESPONSIBILITY. The work involved in this process is performing by installation personnel, and test and integration personnel. Installation personnel are responsible for the following activities: Installing the antenna system Installing the RBS Earthing the RBS Connecting a power supply to the RBS Connecting the antenna system to the RBS Installing cable ladders and cable ducts Installing battery back-up Installing PCM cables
The test and integration personnel are responsible for the following activities: Performing the tests specified in the contract and integrating the site. Troubleshooting is tests indicate a fault. Recording the test results in the Site Installation Documentation which is returned to the engineering personnel. In addition, it is recommended that installation personnel possess the following skills: Technical college, or equivalent, education with emphasis on electrical engineering Familiarity with the equipment used during the installation process Knowledge of the antenna systems Appropriate training and medical certificate for working at heights Good understanding of technical English
6. EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES 6.1. Equipment for Antenna System Tests Compass Antenna tester set ANRITSU Site Master
7. PROCEDURE 7.1. Checking the Installation Verify that the installation is in accordance with Site Installation Documentation (SID). Check that all cables or connectors are free of damage, and that all cables (feeders and jumpers) are properly marked. Check that all connectors are properly connected and tightened. Check that the bending radius of all feeders and jumpers is not too small. Verify the antenna direction against the SID. Consider magnetic influences from nearby metallic objects and deviations from magnetic north when using the compass. Check that the correct cable is connected to the correct antenna. Record remarks, if any, in the test record and forward them to the person responsible for the site installation.

7.4. Naming a DTF Measurement Give the measurement a unique name traceable to the correct antenna system on the correct site. Find the cell ID in the SID. Read the label text on the jumper being measured. Combine measurement type, cell ID and label text (maximum 16 characters). Example: The cell ID found in the SID is SOF007_A. The text on the feeder label is Cell A: DX1 The type of measurement is DTF, so the name of the measurement is DTFSOF007ADX1.

Check that no SWR levels are over 1.4 between the frequencies stated in the table above. Enter the test result in the test record. Create a unique trace name in accordance with paragraph 7.8. Naming an SWR Measurement. Save the measurement by pressing the SAVE DISPLAY key. Type in the trace name using the alpha-numeric soft keys, and press ENTER. Repeat the SWR test for each feeder on the site.
Example: The cell ID found in the SID is SOF007_A. The text on the feeder label is Cell A: DX1 The type of measurement is SWR, so the name of the measurement is SWRSOF007ADX1.
7.9.2. Making a Test Record Supplement After saving all test results in the site master, the result must be transferred to a PC using the serial cable and the site master software tools. Connect the site master to the PCs serial port, using the serial cable. Start the site master software tools on the PC. Click the Start Plot Capture button in the site master software tools. Select the desired plots from the plots download dialog box and click OK. Save the plots to the PC. Print the plots from the site master software tools, and insert them in the SID.
7.9.3. Filling in the Checklist The following checklist is not mandatory but strongly recommended. Local procedures and safety regulations must be evaluated and included in this checklist.
Check the following: 1. That all outdoor antenna system connectors are covered with sealing tape. 2. That the test record is filled in. 3. That the Site Installation Documentation is completed with the test record and the test record supplements.
