Minimum Qualifications:1. Assistant Registrar A. Essential :(I) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at masters degree level from Indian recognized university. (N.B. Good academic record means 55% marks or an equivalent grade at masters degree level and 52.5% marks at bachelors degree level) (II) Basic skill and knowledge of Computer. B. Desirable :(I) Experience of five years of Academic administration or accounting work. C. Preferable :(I) Working knowledge of Gujarati Language. (II) Experience of working in the Open Distance Learning System. 2. Assistant Professor (Except Education) I. Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at Masters level in relevant subject from an Indian recognized University. (N.B. Good academic record means 55% marks or an equivalent grade at masters degree level and 52.5% marks at bachelors degree level) II. Besides fulfilling the above qualification the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. III.Basic skill and knowledge of Computer. IV.Working knowledge of Gujarati Language. 3. Assistant Professor (Education) I. A Masters Degree in Science/Humanities/Arts with 50% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); II. M.Ed. with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever

grading system is followed) OR (I) M.A. in Education with 55% marks(or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) (II) B.Ed. with at least 55% (Marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) And III. Besides fulfilling the above qualification the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. IV. Basic skill and knowledge of Computer. V. Working knowledge of Gujarati Language. Relaxation in qualifications:1. The candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standard and Proceed for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. 2. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted 3. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991. 4. For the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment, a relaxation of 5% at the graduate and masters level for the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories of the candidates. The eligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks excluding grace marks if any.
