The Next Big Thing After High School Like any other senior student, I also got a taste

of the difficulty decision-making has in building our future. College is a level different from high school. In this phase of our schooling, we get to be equipped with all the knowledge that will help in our future endeavors as well as in the greater sphere called life. So I was left with a number of choices. I took college entrance examinations in almost nine universities and luckily, passed all of them. Nine was a fairly great number to choose from and already enough to cause confusion. Immediately, I considered entering a university belonging in the Big Four. University of the Philippines aced my desires for an institution. A university bearing our countrys name would give me the feeling of great pride and honor. Aside from that, UP molds the minds of students in a humble yet hollistic manner. However, my parents beg to disagree with the course I would want to study. They told me that Political Science has no future which hurt me a lot. We had arguments but I always see their jurisdiction over me so I had to consider another university. Ateneo de Manila University was once my dream university. Since I was in high school I always aimed passing the entrance test. Knowing Ateneo, studying in such a prestige school would cost a large sum of money. I personally think that ADMU is too expensive for me so I beg to disagree with my discretion. I tried to be critical as much as I can because I am now left with two choices, University of Santo Tomas and De La Salle University. University of Santo Tomas is a well-known institution which lasted for 400 years. It has good facilities, affordable tuition fee and accessible location. However, I asked for more. I will be studying Accountancy even if my heart belongs to Political Science. I thought that this idea alone would leave an empty space in my being since I contradicted the thoughts I would want to achieve. Happily, I chose De La Salle University. A lot of people view our university as a not-sogood and only for the rich type of university but they have impaired judgments by saying that because DLSU is the university which currently gives me happiness, inspiration to go to school always and follow my parents and my desires at the same time. Currently, I am a frosh student enrolled under the program Political Science and Accountancy (POM-BSA). Now that I have chosen the school which I would want to call as my alma mater, I hope to make and get the most out of it and make my schooling and education worth the effort.
